August 10
good morning!
5:22 a wren sang nearby and also a pygmy owl whistled in the forest.
(i possibly hear the owls calls outside the window! i though i heard a pygmy owl also after 4 am, but i found nothing in the recordings. it had to be outside. i also heard a tawny owl calling here at our summer house later in the early morning.)

6:10 two little birds, the first to the outer right branch. the second to the right side of the nest: a hawfinch.
one of them stayed on a stick under the right side of the nest.
i think they both were hawfinches.

9:10 the wood pigeons went on singing and flying to and from the spruce on the right.
i think there were at least 3 singing males within hearing distance. they sang at least till 9:22.
9:52:about 50 someone's long legs... and a long antenna in front of the camera.
9:56:50 long legs with knees! it's a grasshopper or a cricket.
a grasshopper might stay on the ground ( and i think that a katydid would be much bigger).

14:10 eagle's calls! it took me a while before i understood that there were some calls. they came from rather far and from "behind our backs". difficult to hear.
i think there were both voices, but at least a female's voice.

22:26 the machine sound stopped. it sounded like a harvester.
after a while the sound of the machine driving away in moonlight. farmer's days are long.
(i remember my father driving the harvester into the late evening many times.)
