6:17 Voldis flew in with a big green aspen twig. this time he had 'combed' his tail tidier than last time. :whistling:
Image

he worked with the twig. then he looked around...
the pee-pee -bird called and chaffinches warned...
6:18:24 the pee-pee-bird flew by! it was a hawk of some sort, not an osprey.
i think it was a sparrowhawk.

7:05 - 7:11 footsteps.... no voices. a wild boar? a male loner? a boar family would probably talk at least a little. :puzzled:

20:19 mega2 wrote in the YT chat: "19:47 vairāki mazputniņi pārlidoja ligzdu,daži tupēja zaros-mušķērāju jaunie putni?🐦"
= "19:47 several little birds flew over the nest, some crouched in the branches - the young birds of flycatchers?"
my guess is juvenile chaffinches. the one on the right branch flew away just seconds after the third flew to the opposite side, on the left branch. the one on the poop branch flew away with the third.

20:22 very distant wild boar voices.

August 3

good morning!
red sky at dawn. will that bring rain?

the only morning singer is a wren. he has been singing nearby in most mornings (besides wood pigeons of course).
i think that there were even two wrens, singing at the same time, one closer and the other a little farther.

17:26 what bird is calling?? loud calls...
17:26:26 a big bird flew high in the sky over the meadow and then curved back to the right.
this kind of voices could belong to a bird of prey... :puzzled: :help:

only this morning it came to my mind who will be the next strange bird of prey who will come and visit us. we have had hobbies, we have had ospreys, we had a sparrowhawk yesterday morning. who will come next?

You control the arc of tension. 8-)

Sounds powerful, possibly youthful. Pretty sure for me. There is some delicacy in the reputation.
Similar to begging call Goshawk Juvenile/female in demand but too short...too loud and a bit too shrill.
Hawk ... almost young owls.
Do they beg and fly during the day? :puzzled:

This territory is a paint box... especially now that adult couples are consolidating their territory and youngsters are looking for a new one.

I know that the term bird of prey is common and fixed, but aren't all animals predators?
(Just a note, not for discussion.)
