Margit was quieter today. Before she alighted in the nest, I noted her vocalizations at 06:58:18.

Some vocalizations from Margit.
05:28:27 - 06:17:18 - 07:32:17 - 08:35:48 - 11:54:05 - 12:15:16 - 13:12:39.
06:21:28 - Common chaffinches (Fringilla coelebs), or are they juvenile bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula), and that extra white on the wings is simply throwing me off? One of each? Anyone with more familiarity care to educate? The one in the nest does look a bit round, and the beak does look like it could be a better match for the latter species. :>
13:30:27 - Helju or Kalju fly by.
13:30:49 - Someone circles. presumably the previously flier.
13:31:18 - Margit is silent until they are high above the view from the lens. It is a short string of calls, however.
14:39:37 - Margit's vocalizations pick up.
14:47:47 - Helju has joined in and they are overlapping a fair amount by this timestamp.
14:50:26 - Margit sounds like she may be claiming prey.

Thank you for documenting, sova!

Fascinating interactions among the passerines in the nest this morning. First a mistle thrush (Turdus viscivorus) repeatedly tells a juvenile Eurasian blackbird (Turdus merula) to get lost.

Making .gifs with this free program is tricky. Apologies for the imperfections and obnoxious sizing.
Anyway. Even more fascinating, the blackbird (Turdus merula) refuses to take heed, and instead begins a beautiful display of "anting" in the nest. Stirring up the ants into a frenzy and applying them between the feathers so they bite. Be sure to research this. It is an interesting behavior. I haven't time tonight (PDT here) to go over it.

Margit playfully attacks something in the nest.
She nestles in again.

When who should make an appearance once more? Surprise, surprise, it is Apatura iris (at the fork in the curved branch)!

Margit suddenly rouses as she stands. Perhaps one of the biting ants made it past her scaled and feathery defenses. She preens, and stares and the crawlers, pushing her beak in between her toes. After she does this, little black specks swarm over her foot.
Someone catches Margit's eyes or ears. She solicits for prey, vocalizing and scanning.

As Margit searches, the purple emperor makes a final appearance. Another male. We can barely make out his indigo sheen in the first two clones at the bottom.

There was a chunk of wood partially buried in the nest, and Margit was determined to exhume it for play. This was near the old pine marten spine, which hopefully didn't fall out of the nest, so it can be easily found and examined later in the year. :>
