At first nobody wanted to eat, the big one is very aggressive.
Then suddenly everyone wants to eat only the biggest one looked in the other direction (setsam or normaal?)

Too bad I missed it by a few minutes. I can't imagine aggression. At least I haven't seen it in other nests yet. But it's not impossible.
I looked at this feeding instead:

The little ones have a healthy appetite. They eat very vigorously.
But everything went perfectly normal, at least during this feeding. They try to get bites out of their beaks. They don't hack one after the other.




The four chicks are really very well developed. Very skilful and their paddles show the first quills of the flight feathers.

Can it be that these chicks are much more alone than the chicks in Latvia?
Or does Alla just prefer a place nearby....there isn't much space on the nest either....but still...
If there was danger, could she intervene quickly enough?
