14:45 #4 returns to the nest.
Nice to see him. :innocent:

15:40 H21 brings food to the nest, well prepared or left over?

See how the little devil quickly slips off the branch.
Image

Probably #4, which only crept into the nest later in the day. Yes, he is hungry.

He gets a good meal. Later, H97 also eats and H21 takes for itself.

While the fourth hawklet jumps into the nest and can be served, one remains perched on the upper branch.

With guest appearance by H44. :2thumbsup:

A very interesting phase from 19:57 :dunno:
H21 brings food. The Hawklets are very boisterous, very unbridled.
Image

H21 jumps several times onto the side branch, back into the nest .... until the bundle of joy has calmed down.
Image

Well, a little.

The hawklet claim, making excited sounds almost like kikiki, and still turn away while bricking their wings. They show respect despite the greed.

It doesn't take long for one excitement to give way to another.
H21 becomes aware and nervously looks around. It now has nothing to do with the situation in the nest. crows can be heard.
H21 flies into terrain and she can be heard angry. I think later also H44.
The Hawklets react late, but then stand like organ pipes and watch.

From about 8:13 p.m. we see Goshawk flying over the nest tree, shouting fast and furious. This situation was similar to the day of ringing. This danger could have been directly at or near the nest tree. ?

20:18 H21 is now landing on the upper branch.
The situation is slowly calming down.

Hello Polly and everyone.

H44 appears with a prey in the nest (21:39:57), leaves it and one of them seizes it until H21 appears to share it (21:41:46), after which they all go to bed.

This year it looks like none of them will have the signature "V" for H21 on their tails.

The first ones will be about to fly in a few days, I don't think they would have any problems, but jumping and flying to nearby branches is one thing and another if they had to jump from the ground up about 15 m for example.

P. D. Where I am now we reach 41-42º at noon or early afternoon. I have always liked fresh.

Goodnight

Emiliano :hi:, thanks for the timestimpe!

H44 is taken immediately. Can move away quickly.

A hawklet can steal the food, defends it and starts biting.
When H21 enters the nest, she must first calm the Hawklets down.
Image

Even for them it is not easy to avoid the onslaught. She begins to feed, the fourth hawklet also jumps back into the nest and does not miss the last bite of the day.

This year it looks like none of them will have the signature "V" for H21 on their tails.
I am not sure. Think one will get it. Do we wait a few more inches of tail feathers or a few days? :shake:

A good day!

June 15

Hello, Polly and everyone.

11:04 - 17:45

Not much has happened, chickens in the nest that have been rising. Calls out and then most of the time young female and H21 in nest.
From time to time she comes out and H21 comes in with some green branch that she puts in the nest.

16:33 The young female and another of the chicks feed somewhat, but reluctantly.

First thing in the morning it was windy and the chicks finished lying down in the nest (17:45)

Goodnight

Hello, everyone :hi:

Yesterday after work I looked into the nest with my mobile phone. Admittedly, I have extreme problems...actually, it's pointless to watch a webcam with a mobile phone (mouse cinema). My eyes start to water after a while.

But at one point the nest was deserted. So H97 also started its forks yesterday. :2thumbsup:

08:19 H21 enters the nest with food.
Greedy invisible squeaks on the floors but none of the gourmets make their way to the table. Not even the hawklet on the side branch can slide down.

H21 stands and waits ....

08:44 Only now does a hawklet drop from the upper branches into the nest.
Jump right to the edge of the box.

The boy eats absolutely independently. No action by H21.

08:50 Begging calls sounding far away from the nest tree.
One hawklet, one vote.

'51 Now there are two votes.
Two hawklets attract attention - two are in the nest/branch

'52 H21 puts the food back in the nest.

H21 seems to prefer to force their bundles of joy to fly through movement.
The hawklets need to come to the food - not the food to the hawklets.

09:55 H21stands again and waits...but there is no desire from 'outside'.
No shouts, nothing.

Not even when she carries the food outside again at 10:03.

The size difference between male and female Goshawk is now well-marked.

13:25 H44 brings food to the nest without announcing itself.

At first he seems unsure ... the strong female of all people, his H97 is in the nest. He decides to stay. H97 doesn't show gluttony and H44 stays with her...watch her. H21 is also outside or tolerates its presence in the nest.
H44 has a severe narrow white outline on its canopy. In contrast to H21, it runs almost completely narrow around the entire head.

Emiliano, did we have a moment like this last year? I can not remember.

I will never scold my children ever again.... :rotf:

21:13 H21 brings a fresh branch into the nest.
Two of the Hawklets react somewhat unbridled. One was climbing off the branch like a kite, the other was eating...did his food feel threatened?
A power struggle begins over the food carcass. One hawklet is better off retreating, the other defending its food from H21.

H21 was able to take the piece and began feeding the excited Hawklet.
A little later, #4 jumped into the nest from the bottom floor - no less greedy.

Hello Polly. :2thumbsup:
Emiliano, did we have a moment like this last year? I can not remember.
It doesn't ring a bell to me that H44 was in the nest for so long (but practically you can't see the others, they're alone, there's space)

For me H44 is not afraid to enter the nest but when there are many there is more caution. We haven't seen him so treated in a long time.
The pileus ( feathers from the top of the head ) is more uniform and darker, as is the whisker with respect to H21, which is more similar to chickens due to its brown color, although the tones are lighter and more uniform than theirs.
12:36 H97, the girl is back on the safe floe too and see how a mini can fly!
High and bleating!

It flies past the nest tree , calling .
Your videos cut the frame somewhat at the ends because they have a certain magnification , in the direct one at (12:36:27) there are the four chickens , two in the nest and the other two in the branches (one on the top and another one on the left) and you can see something passing in front of you but it's not one of them .
It could be one of the parents or another bird, I don't see it clearly .

All the best

(I have little time for more complete documents and I do partial things. Trips, nights , etc...)

Hello, Polly and everyone.

I can't see much (only instants).

At the 12:34 feeding one of the chickens has flown in from outside and there is another one calling further away. Two at least flown, possibly three and only the female remains.

Cheers
