December 31th

Hello Polly and everyone.

8:31/32 the first calls of the last day of the year follow one another, I did not have much activity on the day.

At dusk the firecrackers began to sound that almost did not stop until the new year began
The birds were out of control as Polly pointed out. I heard them at around 22:12

Let's hope that the rest of the days are calmer for them, there are many domestic and wild animals that are quite disturbed by the fireworks, perhaps more so by individuals that extend a long time.

Greetings and let's see if we also normalize.

Both voices right?

Pretty much.
I have to double check that it's two angry voices. It sounded like it.
In any case, H44 seems to be listening with a soothing sound. :innocent:

I'm definitely insanely happy to most likely hear both of the couple.

Good night to you all.

Good evening.

Yes, it seemed to me that they were both, but it was very little and almost together at the time.

There may already be individuals who are looking for sites and pass through the area, it is the same thing that the H's did two years ago but then the territory was free, with Boka in his place we would not have had what we have been up to these two years.

Greetings and good night.

Hello Emiliano, @all

I greet you with the January picture of my calendar. :innocent:
Image

Today there was a lot of stillness in the terrain. Not even crows practiced their approaches.

There were works, close to the nest tree and the meeting point of the couple.
Well hopefully no prominent favorite branches were taken. After all, places for love should remain. 8-)

11:53:58 - 02 First sounds heard, near the nest.
And it was the only sound of the day?
I heard nothing else.

H44 I think. Clear voice, also sharp but thin.
In unison with crows and chainsaw.
I'm surprised not to hear H21 but I don't want to be pessimistic.

Fascinating, isn't it?
Here the hawk Elly is released through smaller and smaller culverts.
If we consider that females are quite compact, this suppleness and agility is really impressive.

Yes, that's what makes the Goshawk - an elegant hunter even in the tricky undergrowth.
When I listen to H21 sometimes.... our crash pilot.

Good morning together! :hi:

The work in the grove continues today. Also today close to the nest tree and in its immediate vicinity.
The couple gets a tidy compound - and it will remain a hopefully good jungle gym for the Juveniles.

Soft love babble 08:36:47 - 37:08 It starts excitedly and ends softly.
Edit:
The soft tones are preceded by unpleasant sounds.
It is possible that there were discrepancies here.
Actually, the soft tones don't fit in the end... :puzzled:

10:20 am The forestry work is still in full swing. The couple's activities are therefore not to be expected for the time being.

13:53:00 The crows have been nagging their way back into the terrain for quite a while.
We're likely to see a Goshawk changing position in the tree in the left corner.

Is the plumage brown or grey?
I think brown/teen. Other opinions would be nice!

Then I had to laugh at myself .... I'm blind! :slap: And I'm really embarrassed.
At first I thought a mouse was climbing over the "branch". Then I zoomed in (I've only had this feature for a while. Involuntarily. Probably as a result of an update?)
For over two years I have not realized that there is a creek running below the nest tree! Yes, I kept hearing the splash but I never looked for it.

15:32:43 - 33:00 A dog goes into the stream to drink.

Hello Polly and everyone. :hi:

At 13:53 it happens very fast, I would say it's brown.

I already knew the video, I have another where the excellence of sight is said to do several things at the same time and maintain vision and coordination in several directions simultaneously.

He is a prodigy of faculties in his senses and in his locomotor system and above all of courage (although sometimes it can be his downfall). To me the dive coming out to the left of H44's nest seemed spectacular because of how easy it seemed. So did H21 on several occasions but it didn't give me the same impression.

As for the pruning, it is the season and except for a little just below or behind what we see, it does not seem that they have touched much. The greatest danger of the jobs is the time when the eggs are laid and are incubating.

As for the ditch, you can hardly see it and it almost looks like a branch but these days it has rained a lot and it will have been loaded, I don't think it will carry water all year round, it has also coincided that there are no leaves and it can be seen better.
Good observation !!! :2thumbsup:

Greetings and see you tomorrow.

The schedule promises. I already told you that with this animal one.

It's good if it's done now. The Goshawk there are aware of human activity and will not be absent permanently.

January 5

It appears the couple has a clingy lodger.
09:20/21 This Goshawk today could also be youthful. Seems curious and expectant. I don't think it's either of the couple.
Or is it?
Narrow long eyebrows. H44?
Image

Well, the day might bring the resolution.
09:42 He leaves the place and flies silently into the factory premises.

I haven't heard from the couple today.

I don't have much today, too many spontaneous distractions and occupations. That's why I forgot the pause button in the afternoon. When I heard gentle 'Gjak'...unfortunately no timestamp but it calms me down. I assume that they are pure partner sounds and the pair is therefore intact.

11:38 Definitely a clear call.
From which Goshawk I could not clearly assign

Have a quiet night everyone!
:offtobed:

Ps: Beyond the weekend, the temperatures drop again sensitively. (up to -14°C)
But it will increase again in the coming week.

Hello Polly and everyone.

Brief gjack at 15:39:47-50

It's not much but they're still in the area, sometimes it's pure luck to hear something so short in the afternoon.

All the best.

That will be it.

Thank you Emiliano!

Audio sample from today - the only one.

In my opinion, a contact call - a lonely one. No Answer.

Sometimes it drives me crazy. On the one hand, the couple appears to be completely active together, on the other hand, one partner seems to be 'missing'.
Well, they have their own timing and pace. And her occasional downtime. It's just sometimes incompatible with my caring.

I watched the video of the last ringing again. Because of the difference in voice tone between H44 and H21. Both, especially H44, were very angry.
Don't you Emiliano, they often sound identical. Especially excited. Differences are only explicit when H21 uses her begging calls or long-drawn-out calls.

So also today and in the last few days - it could well have been H44 with calls!
Also yesterday below the nest - waiting for H21.

Hello Polly and all.

Right now it is difficult to distinguish the sounds of both, they are occasional and we do not see them simultaneously. When we have seen them and they are in more normal conditions (not angry) the sound of the female (H21) does seem more powerful and perhaps a little more serious.

Surely many times we have made a mistake giving sounds from H21 and that they were from H44. During the breeding season when we are more used to their sounds, we have distinguished them better and appreciated nuances that cannot be done right now. The kind of sounds they make now are pretty similar.

Regards and good night.

Hello together, Emiliano :hi:

08:33 - 35 The couple can be heard well and one of them can be seen for a short moment a little further away to the left under the tree.
H21 energetic, H44 soothing.

Nothing else so far...

Chatter and flap :innocent:

I have to go to work for today.

Hello together, Emiliano :hi:

08:31 Crows are approaching
A breaking immediate and the reputation.
Both can be heard shortly afterwards.

09:09 another near call (H21)
09:24:40 she leaves the lower level towards the industrial area

We keep hearing breaking and occasional flapping. But the pair act invisible...like ghosts
