Camera and microphone are 8 meters away from the nest. so I can never actually tell that someone is calling close to the nest.
The male can be close to the camera when he is hooting "loud".
15:39 she is preening herself. a lot of work with all the feathers

15:40 she is tucked deep in the nest .. stands up and is scratching in the nest bowl
15:43
Image

looks like she has lift her tail .. now the cam is too far from the nest for me

16:21 she stands up and flew away
both are hooting. they are on the left out of sight

16:23:40 mating
Male came to the nest tree
16:24 is hooting
16:25:49 male flew away and is hooting

it seems to be a ritual that he always flies to the nest tree after mating.
that was a long stay at nest :2thumbsup:

:hi: all!
The transmission is terrible, the stream is on and off every few seconds

22:30 eagle owl lands silently on the large branch beside nestbox (I believe it's the female)
22:35 Yes, it is the female, she is now in the nest. She is doing the same as all afternoon, digging in the nest and bothering with sticks, alternating with quiet periods of just looking around. No sign of the male.
23:07ff she is heaving, like contractions.
23:11 more contractions, I think she is laying an egg now; pity that we can't have the zoom now... (thankfully, the stream is better now!)
23:15 she's sitting up in the nest and looks stressed. Is that it?
23:17ff she relaxes somewhat, then sits very still for a long time.
23:34 she gets up and looks under herself. Do we have an egg?
23:42 She is getting up and turns around, all the while looking underneath. I believe an egg can be seen, but it is very blurry there. She flattens down in the nest, then makes herself comfy.

23:16 Possibly this is the moment :loveshower:
Image

23:42:22 She turns in the nest... is this the egg?

She is relaxing now, but every now and then she becomes nervous, gets up und possibly rolls her egg. (I write "possibly" because I have not actually *seen* an egg, just a whitish blurry spot that *could* be an egg (and not perhaps her 'trousers'). We will get a better video resolution tomorrow in daylight. From her behaviour, though, we can surely assume that there is an egg indeed. - Also, the exact moment, to the second, of an egg plopping out was not sooo obvious to me.)

00:14 she gets up again and turns around. A whitish spot under her can be seen several times, which I hope is indeed part of an egg. Mr. Bubo has not turned up yet.
02:29 the male can be heard hooting but not seen.

Good morning bozena Isia

Yes, I saw this and was shocked too. But when she came back, she seemed to be "rolling an egg" again. :puzzled: It may have been so close to the near rim of the nest that it was not visible for us? Well, we'll find out in daylight, I suppose.
