She must have brought many small pieces of food with her. The chicks collect it.

She gives food very quickly - and stood on a branch. Children certainly want more.

In the past years, all the chicks welcomed their parents like that. Especially at a younger age. It seems to me that this is how they demonstrate both respect and their growth... Our third one doesn't want to seem the least for a known reason. It seems to me that he will grow up a little more, calm down and stop doing this. And the beak tapping with an outstretched neck, of course, could have been regarded as aggression earlier, and he received it for this... Mom is more nervous... I hope she threw away all the bad thoughts and heads. The kid is learning...

18:16 dinner is already over
Image

18:30 they all ask for supplements ... 1, 2, 3 ...
now their beaks and beak differences at No. 1 and No. 2 are clearly visible:

It was three servings. First the chicks pulled the fish or something else out of Karl II's beak.

No. 1 swallowed food like a vacuum cleaner... the youngest got the least of all, he was behind his father's leg, but he got something soft... 8-)

The chicks watch a butterfly. Looks like Nymphalis antiopa.

Here we go again. Our main actors are below the camera field of view. :dunno:

Good evening!

Today the chicks are respectively 27, 27 and 24 days old.

OrniTrack information

Today Karl II flew 127 km
Battery level: 100%

Karl II spent the night in a tree at the edge of a forest, near a brook, about 9 km from the nest.

His working day starts at 04:07, at that brook. At 07:07 he is on his way home.

Karl II arrives on the nest at 07:17
At 07:37 he is at a nearby brooklet about 1 km from the nest. He continues to search for food along this brooklet over a distance of over 2 km, until about 10:35 and then flies to the nest.

Karl II arrives on the nest at 10:38
He flies to a location where I do not often see him, a stream in an agricultural area, about 18 km from the nest. Last year he sometimes came there too. He stays fishing in that stream until about 13:45, and then flies home.

Karl II arrives on the nest at 14:22
At 14:27 I see him again in flight, this time towards the same nearby brooklet as this morning, about 1 km from the nest, but on a different section of that brooklet. He remains in that area looking for food until about 15:37 and then flies to an area with several smaller and larger lakes, about 24 km from the nest. He seems to be flying around in that area. I see him stop for a while at what looks to me like a wet area (and brooklet) between two lakes. He searches for food there until about 17:55, and then flies home.

Karl II arrives on the nest at 18:45
At 18:57 he is in flight again, this time to a ditch in a (commercial?) forest, about 8,5 km from the nest. At 20:37 (last shown location) I see him at the edge of another ditch, in the same area.

Many thanks @sova

There was not a sound to be heard in the forest. At 01:41:49 a chick appears to have touched another chick with his beak.
It was probably a fright and if one growls, then everyone growls together.
Luckily nothing to worry about.
