Juta, thank you for the information! :2thumbsup:

ame, the camera is still off!

What will happen to the other two storklets? :puzzled:

Now I will do a video with the new information. But it affect only one storklet

Dr. Madis Leivits, big thank to you! for taking care of these storklets. They have grown very well under your care, look healthy and strong :loveshower:
Now I hope that everyone will be fine in their new freedom

Good morning!

Juta, thanks a lot for the information!

Liz, I can imagine that, if this experiment works, a few days later sibling2 and later sibling3 will move to this nest. Until then there is koru who feeds.

I found it. .two will move outside the clinic, one will move to the Karula nest.

Francesca, I don't think all will move to Karula. that seems too risky! 6 in one nest.. that won't be possible :puzzled:

In general, media has informed already about possible event this night at Karula nest. There are small journalistic mistakes, but main idea is already written.
It depends on weather at evening, hopefully no thunderstorm raises. So final decision will be made late afternoon, we would not to travel too long with stork chick, but rather directly from clinic to Karula (that is about hour and half to drive). In almost darkness will climb to nest and place chick there between others. As we ordered for orphaned chicks the transmitters, the both rings will be in the beginning only on added chick to determine it easily in cam view. All chicks will be weight and measured. And will be visited again in time of installing the transmitter.
If the conditions are not favorable, we postpone transition by tomorrow. Anyway, after transition I will stay nearby for night and somebody will check the action in camera nest. If needed I can climb up again and take that fourth chick back. Hope it will be no case. So documentation in forum would be helpful.
Other two will be placed in other nests, one possible is Eedis nest, because this pair is relatively easy to feed extra. Third nest is under selection, yet. But in all nest we know by now, there are three chicks.

Urmas, thank you so much for these logistic and personal efforts - all of you, figuring out where to place the storklets and monitoring this endevour. I know that our storkaholics here will spend the night with open eyes, too (plus lots of coffee or tea). :2thumbsup:

In outdoor building of vet clinic, there is no camera. Therefore we can't show stream. To install it for few days - simply no time for that.
I can't see either the chicks, in spite want to. Will go there just before departure of first chick of Jan-Janika.

How it would be right word to call those orphaned chicks - step chicks, extra chicks, fourth ones?

I have been thinking of that, too.

As we already have 1, 2, 3 shall we refer to the newcomer (in Karula) as 4?
My husband used to say that I have no imagination so any other suggestions welcome!
Step chicks for those remaining after tonight - seems appropriate.
