Chick # 2 who -of course- got the prey has problems swallowing down a large rest......

Hours later, when clearing out my Screenprint map I saw it is a bird's head with the beak pointing out, yikes. But also realizing it all does not mean that to a Goshawk chick, it is just food.
Image

Also problems getting this long -nutritious- feather down, but not giving up.

Chick # 1 has taken over the rest of the prey and is now trying to get some bites of a few long bones.
Like this all 3 had something off 1 prey.

A prey is dropped, so fast I could not see by whom.
Chick # 1 who stood in front, has got it.
Image

A short time-out, with a lot of panting: it's a heavy task eating a prey all by yourself

All 3 from behind. Chick # 3 at the right hand side, still a small one, but keeping up with his siblings in a brave way

Chick 1 practicing jump-flying and already reaches so high! Much higher than the branch on which her parents jump when they leave after bringing food.

Inspired by his siblings, chick # 3 gives it a try and jumps wing-flapping very high.

Sibling shows him how it should be done.

Male with a prey, taken by one of the 2 larger chicks.
They all 3 saw/heard him coming and hang halfway over the edge of the nest. Chick in the middle was the closest and could grab it.
Male does not even have to land on the nest anymore.
Large black and white bird.
Image

And also not plucked yet, so chick # 2 has to manage this by itself.

And s/he manages quite alright. With no intentions of sharing the "loot."
Chick # 3 dared turning his head to watch and immediately loud screams (in this special tone) came his way. Made # 3 swiftly turning back again.
Legs and all go inside.

Again Chick # 3 tries to steal the prey, a long tug of war between them but # 2 does not let go.

# 2 has left the prey, satisfied....chick # 3 took it now and is eating. Now I'm wondering if chick # 1 dares to grab it away from # 3.
Image
LOL, # 3 is not plucking the bird, but just eats the feathers. He sure is in a haste! # 1 is in the back and seems to leave # 3 in peace with the prey.

Mom brought a prey, chick # 3 grabbed it, but she took it back.
Still some respect for Mom

She starts feeding her unruly bunch

Looks like a large prey, so must be enough for all 3.

Chicks tear of bites from left and right, but Mom has good solid talons on it, and she does not let go.
The noise the 3 of them make is deafening :rotf:
Image

It is so much fun watching this, now the 2 older ones fight over 1 piece of meat.

Chick # 3 draws back from the feeding, has had enough.
One of the older ones finally succeeds in tearing the rest of the prey off Mom's talons but she still is the boss and takes it back.
And # 3 who does not participate any more is still screaming just as loud as the other 2, they are a funny lot

Yay, silence! :loveshower:
Prey finished, Mom takes a large bone with her, leaving her 3 young ones, each with a large bulging crop.
