11:27:15 a crash.

11:43 a raven called and flew to the top. she talked there klop - klop - klop.
11:44:20 the raven flew away.

12:07:57 a big crash!
it sounds like a big branch breaking or a tree falling. what makes these sounds? it's perfectly calm so the wind can't make trees break. :puzzled:

hello Polly! :hi:
there is a lumberjack with a chainsaw and sometimes we can hear a crash after the saw has been brrr'ing for a while. many of these crashes have, however, happened without a chainsaw's brrr before the crash. the chainsaw sounds also seems to come from a longer distance than the crashing sounds. they seem to happen out of the blue. they are mysterious sounds. :puzzled:
maybe i should have made longer clips of the sounds with longer time before the crash...?
i made a new clip. here the first crashes have no chainsaw sounds before them. in the second part there are both sounds in turns. it's difficult to say if they are linked.

13:48 Voldis worked a little, he dug the hay...
14:00 Voldis dug the hay and sat on the rim. then worked more...

When trees are damaged due to drought ect.. they can suddenly lose branches. That is normal. Coniferous trees in particular are currently very susceptible to this event. I almost got hit by one of these recently. The branch only grazed me, so I only had a bleeding wound. I am very careful in my forest excursions. But I can't see clairvoyant.

EDIT:
ame, sorry for the late response to your post from yesterday. Goshawk really only differs in size. the female is considerably larger. Otherwise there is the juvenile plumage, then the plumage in the 2nd year of life, which is still brownish and has coarsely banded chest and belly feathers. As an adult, it has blue-grey plumage and finely banded chest and belly feathers. (my book "Der Kosmos Vogelführer))
