Seems Team H has already moved as a precaution.
In fact, today is the first weekday without a row under the tree in many weeks! :loveshower:
What happened?

No more visits or calls - creative break.

I have to go to work.
Hopefully this undisturbed state will be preserved.... :innocent:

Now that I'm writing this, the couple returns with shouts. That's how they are - the H's.

Hello Polly, André and everyone.

Bienvenue André.

The camera has been turned to the left based on the view from behind the tree and zoomed in. For me it means missing out on a lot of the activity we had before and the center of the nest can always be zoomed in and seen. Many times it makes me angry to see that they disappear when I am next to them and that we used to see them before. But we don't rule on that, I just give my opinion. As soon as the tree puts forth leaves, you will see little of the surroundings, in exchange, some vision has been gained in the branches on the left.

This couple does not seem to follow a similar pattern to others ( in Tartu for example ) but they will surely end up laying their eggs on the same dates if they use this nest since they tend to hurry up in the days before the first egg is laid . They already did it last season.

They have had serious interference in the area, today I have not heard anything and it is possible that they have already intervened due to the proximity of the dates.

Greetings.

...they tend to hurry up in the days before the first egg is laid..
...H21 does.
For the moment.

16:24 The couple flutters (also to be seen) through the grove and babbles.

16:53 mating (but clearly audible at a distance)

17:00 We hear a nearby call that seems to be coming from the tree. And we see H21 fluttering down to the lower floor.
Image

She chirps and jumps into the nest. A gust of wind jacks up her backside. :whistling:
Image

H21 plucks a little, makes soft noises...possibly H44 is actually lurking around in the tree.

She leaves the nest and returns two minutes later with a twig. The branch is dropped somewhat haphazardly and she jumps onto the side branch.
Image

07:05 H21 leaves the tree.

17:48 H21 can be seen again how she flies into a nearby tree and calls.

I couldn't find more in a short time. We've got plenty to do in the next few months...

Good night everyone!

13:18 , 13:32 , 14:37 , 16:41 , 16:51 , 16:52 , Calls and gjak loose.

14:50 , 15:00 , 16:15 , 16:18 , 16:54 Great Tits by the nest and nearby branches looking for remains or food.

14:39 to 14:50 Sounds like picking up or cleaning on the floor.

March 7th

Good morning everyone! :hi:

07:44 Shouts echo through the grove

08:45 First riots
Angry crows, a lot of flight movement around the tree...flying shadows roam the picture
'46 H21 swings into the nest calling
...check check ...and out again
'47 now she leaves the tree accompanied by the chorus of crows

'49 back with a branch
She arranges a little confused and leaves the nest again - but seems to stay around.
The crowing doesn't die down, not for a long time.

Calls
09:13
09:25 close and energetic
'35 (visible) She leaves the nest tree into the grove and calls again
'56

'59 Lightning visit from H21.
She carries a twig into the nest, calls.
H21 quickly leaves the nest and carries the branch out again without intention. He got caught on her and fell on a branch outside the nest.

So far, H44 has not contributed much to nest building.

Good morning Polly and everyone.

Thank you for your remarkable efforts on several fronts.

Today a youngster has appeared several times in the nest ( S03 ) 12:06 , 12:28 . It is the time of search for territories.

...a youngster has appeared several times in the nest ( S03 ) 12:06...
Oh, and what a beautiful example of Goshawk!

We hear it 12:05:50 already below the nest with soft tones.
At first the camera started to shake, a great tit frolics on the right edge of the nest - it can't have been that. :D
And then this well-fed and extremely breeding-willing juvenile slipped sideways into the nest.

The last food was not long ago ... the harvest is voluminous and the toes are still bloody in places.

The nest is inspected and the juvenile goshawk positions itself on a branch close to the nest.
Image

His tail feathers and silhouette can also be seen at 12:13.
12:14 A crack and the Crow Police reveal that the Juvenile has departed.

I'm not good at it, could it be a female? :puzzled:
Long legs, strong feet, all in all a magnificent specimen.

On February 23rd a juvenile was here before, but it looked very delicate in comparison.
But the ring also resembled an 'S..?'

12:15 The crow inspection follows directly.
Image

However, there is no rest. A new wave of rage from the crows swept through the grove and the juvenile, chased, flew into the nest tree and called.

12:26 new wave of anger now on all sides.
Deeper in the forest, H21 can be heard, the crows roar and S03 leaves the nest at '26:54 into the forest as well.

The mood is heated.

'27:53 S03 flutters into the nest with a hoarse voice. She seems very determined. She seems to like it here. Also judging by the comforting sounds from earlier.
Image

Image

H21 can still be heard.
And of course the crows...

S03 flies back into the forest - calls. H21 calls.
There is a need for clarification.

12:33 There is a crash in the nest tree and we recognize S03 by the voice.
H21 can be heard angry until '37.

12:40 no one calls anymore but there is a rustling in the tree - S03 or crow?
...
H21 still had some angry moments. I hope the ladies can clear this up...

Now I need a cigarette.

Hello

Today's bird is not the other day's, it does look like a female.

The details we look at are the same as the H's. The tail pattern in one is inline and in the other it is out of date. Especially the cheek, it is the clearest even in H21 and H44, it is almost the first thing that is seen and the extension and greater clarity (or diffuse) is usually noticed in the females. Although there are exceptions. In Ruudi and Alla it is very clear. You have to keep in mind that sometimes you doubt depending on the position. Other details are the eyebrow and the drawings of the neck or the lines of the crown.

I don't know if at this time the Goshawks tolerate the young that already come with the intention of breeding. It is already occupied territory.

More activity.

14:03, 25, 41, 15:06, 35, 39.
15:47:11 H21 enters the nest very quickly and turns around as if there was something she didn't want to see or was bothered by.

13:50 H21 clearly heard and not far away.
Answer comes from another position.

H21 keeps calling...

13:53 H44 ...with empty claws but how nice to see him! :innocent:
Image

Image

He does not stay long in the nest and jumps onto the upper branch with soft sounds.
'54 it cracks - H44 leaves the tree?

14:41,
15:35, '39 H21 calls off-road

15:47 She flies to the nest, calls... and gets scared.
H21 wore a branch. :innocent:

What happened?
I listened throughout the afternoon and again meticulously the last hour before this visit. I couldn't find anything except bored crow calls just before.

Maybe the solution will come later.
Maybe she's a little overwrought from the day ...

Also until 5:04 p.m. no further approach to the nest, no calls. H21 seems to have been impressed.
...and sometimes you can only shake your head...

Still - the second day in a row without a party under the nest. Whatever has been done - it is fruitful! Thank you so much!!!! :2thumbsup:

See you!

March 8th

Good morning Polly y everyone.

6:45:17 Brief soft gjak.
7:20:19 calls and H44 enters the nest with her dance. He is called from the outside by H21 and the first pairing of the day occurs (7:21:40), a soft gjak follows a little later.

Now it seems that they are back to normal.

7:34:10 Some call, further away.
7:35:39 H21 enters the nest with a branch and quickly exits to re-enter with another branch ( 7:39:57) , more sounds follow outside.

Emiliano, everyone! :hi:

I was hoping for that.
S03 is an exciting female. She exudes youthful strength and courage. Yesterday the situation was heated for two females willing to mate in one territory, but we have heard other encounters here before.
However, it could have ended differently if none of the females gave in.

But what we can also observe is that H21 is still very sensitive. There is a noise during the second visit, which immediately alerts them. H21 gets tall, puts the branch aside and eavesdrops on the surroundings.

Both visits:

Second visit:
H21 did not come alone. She was accompanied. The second can be seen at the top below the edge of the screen.
(probably H44, since adult plumage)

Then some calls follow...
The only vague sighting 09:23 - 25 H21 sits slightly opposite on a branch, calls.
