12:51 For the first time I'm sure that H44 starts the contact - from the field.
H21 answers from a distance.

Go to 14:36/37
First a sonorous attempt at mating ... mating? up to more animated shouts from H21 a few seconds later.

My God ... nobody recognized him ... nobody noticed?
For days I've been thinking: "H44, bring the stick."

And today he brought it!!!! :loveshower: :loveshower:

The fidgety movements are unmistakable. The narrow eyebrow, almost completely fused over the beak.

the hedgehog head :innocent:

But we have already heard three possible matings which means that H21 pulls the male...
...appropriately formulated Emiliano. It seems so.

More calls:
15:24/25, '29, '32

It's good that the youth are busy elsewhere at the weekend ....

Other characters of the couple:
16:11, '47, '53, '57

A good day, almost certainly promising, and thanks to the weekend without youth disturbances.

Good night!

I'll take a look a little further, if necessary add something tomorrow.

Hello Polly and everyone. :2thumbsup:

How nice is there again H44 :loveshower: :loveshower: . He was worried that something could have happened to him because his signals were not clear.

He has a good appearance, his cute C86-style eye but he is very restless, he moves very quickly in his body movements. The recording that we have of June in the chicken season did not come out accelerated, it is that way.

Good day today with this new recovery.

I have not been able to see anything today, I have only left recording the morning screen, I went out to wait for a nearby couple in the afternoon and there was a family flying a drone in a nearby strip of clearing. I heard the Goshawk that must have come closer to see what that was.

7:39:55 , 7:41:58 , 7:54:50 First sounds of the day.

Good night and rest.

February 5.

Good morning! :hi:

Some were already well heard today and the nest tree had a few visitors.

07:30 shouts in the distance
09:07, '12 The Jay with the reputation of H21 - the little guy is really good!
'14/15 he flutters through the tree to then turn into a cat.

09:16 The next visitor slips into the nest.
The crow hops onto a branch and takes his time to loosen his feathers.

09:28 H21 calls in the grove
'31/32 Both can be heard close up

09:40 - 53 Sometimes very excited, almost angry shouts can be heard in the distance

10:18 A blackbird takes position at the top of the side branch.
'19 H21 in close proximity
The blackbird remains relaxed.

10:22/23 'Gjaks' like breathed...the couple whispers. H21 only gets loud once in a while.
'24 A crack is heard and crows begin to gargle. Ah, so they're still sitting somewhere...
'31 The blackbird flies away low down

11:20/22 The woodpecker is hammering. :innocent:
11:36 - 38 H21 calls melodically and invitingly.
...crows gargle
'40 H21 is calling
'46 now in distance

12:11 again

12:12 The Jay in buzzard robes
Then croaking again.

The tits are chirping great today!

13:53 - 14:09 Team H is fully present and can be heard with calls at close range.

14:20 Mating/Hint

14:41 Nice to hear both again.
H21 begins. She seems to be calling from a further position. H44's 'Gjaks' and shouts sound closer.

'45 H44? is calling

15:11/12 cracking and H21 ...it belongs together. :D
She calls, then H44 joins in.

'19 rustling in the tree

16:19 A flock of crows is approaching the Site.

A pity, I would have liked to have seen her today. Before it gets loud again tomorrow...

But the pair were seen in the best of spirits and condition today. :innocent:

16:42 Crows roaming around again and a cracking/landing noise that sounds like in a tree.
However, the calls from H21 then sound from a different position.

'44 H21 and H44 talk.
So H21 talks and H44 says "Yes." :D

'46/47 ... affectionate small talk makes the grove very warm. :innocent:

Departure and '48 H21 sounds in the distance again.

17:00 pairing/attempt at meeting point.

May this place become safer...

I made a zoom video but as I thought - whether these vocalizations now document completed matings cannot be said with certainty. (at least not by me) I think no.
Let's put it this way - it's being 'worked on' seriously. 8-)

17:17 - 19 Short debriefing
H44 appears gentle, H21 still heatedly excited

Good night!

Calls in the morning.

7:31, 33, 34 ,8:02, 04,15, 16,17

8:20:19 - 21:54 H44 enters the nest with a stick, climbs up and leaves. Almost like it has done after H21
9:07:26 to 9:20:17 H21 appears in the nest with a stick and climbs its branch to leave later calling in flight.

Emiliano wrote:8:20:19 - 21:54 H44 enters the nest with a stick, climbs up and leaves. Almost like it has done after H21
H44 has gotten bigger. :innocent:

It was quite a long branch.

Rubs his beak.

Mating sounds after H44 has flown back deep into the grove.

¡Gracias Emiliano! :2thumbsup:

Good morning Emiliano! :hi:

I couldn't follow large parts of the day.
There were more calls, close and strong, from both between 10:09 - '32.

sightings none.

But there was other activity in the nest tree.
Two female animals and one male from woodpecker cavort in the nest tree.

I can't tell if it's a common woodpecker or a great spotted woodpecker?
