9:33 The male brings food into the nest.

Does not want to let it go right away.
It is his foot at Angel's beak.

What a strange behavior.
The male brings a vole, but doesn't want to give it to Angel. She takes it by force.
Maybe he isn't mature enough to be a reliable partner? Maybe Angel has doubts? We didn't see successful mating on the nest (although they may do it elsewhere, who knows).

Hello rysx!

I mentioned this disharmony a few days ago.
They act side by side, not with each other.
Both do what their instincts and hormones dictate, but I don't think Angel and her companion see themselves as a couple.

I find Angel to be very reserved at times... very deliberately solitary.
Have you noticed that she avoids physical contact? She often flinches when the male comes too close. She is also often startled when the male suddenly appears in the nest and she did not see him coming.
It may have been random moments. I make no fixed claim.

I often thought Angel was deaf. Certainly nobody will be able to say whether Angel has deficits in this respect.
In any case, she's something special, I like this girl.

I no longer hear or see as intensively over a longer period of time. On the one hand, because you already documented and on the other hand, because I find the interaction boring. As I wrote a few days ago - one comes, one goes. I only have two devices. I can't look intensely in many nests.
Still, I'll keep an eye on it here - like I said, I like this headstrong Angel and I'm dying to see how her babies look. :innocent:

Angel is expanding her nest very purposefully. Dig the nest bowl and each branch gets a chosen place. :innocent:

Egg laying is expected in about 2-3 weeks.
Well, if I haven't misunderstood something again. :D

March 10th

Hello together! :hi:

So far only Angel in the Nest has been seen.
In Tennessee, however, the day still runs for a few hours while my eyes are already filled with sand.

Angel was already working in the nest, bringing nesting material, digging the nest bowl.

Angel still looks a bit tired...her plumage fluffs up a bit. :innocent:

March 12th

Hello @biker! :hi:
Do you know that I 'saw' Angel calling for the first time yesterday?
Angel and her partner are so decelerated...almost not there.

By the way, no visitors today.
Local time 03:35 pm ...strange.

Hello!

Polly :hi:
yes, both silent most of the time

10:12 Angel brought a long, thin twig and placed it at the edge of the nest.

Then she worked a little in the nest hollow.

@Polly Yesterday was one of the now rare evenings when I was allowed to listen to 'my eagle owl'

There is also another camera, long range PTZ. It registered possibly sounds of mating and later the hawks came to the nest.

And the view from the overhead camera.

Hello everyone!
Biker & ryxs (nice to read you again!)! :2thumbsup:

I read about a second camera. However, I have not followed it.

Somehow pairings are inevitable. I just miss the communication in the nest. I find that extraordinary. No matter what birds we observe, there is always communication in the nest. Upon arrival or when other instructions or sentiments are expressed. Not here. The couple does not babble.

It's entirely possible that I'm missing something due to the different time zones. I don't watch constantly for long periods of time. So I can definitely miss a lot.
But it suits Angel, who acts 'different' altogether.

March 14th

Today, however, a warm moment ...
The male is building the nest as Angel enters the nest. At first I had the feeling that the male flinched. But he stayed...
He was really meticulous and thoughtful. :innocent:
