April 3rd

Hello together, Biker & ryxs! :hi:

There are still two eggs.
Angel & Tom are very harmonious. Tom seems to be one of those males who likes to breed. 8-)
He is persistent.

Tom takes over the nest after the night. Angel leaves with almost no delay.

The other way around, the change becomes more tedious.
Angel lands on the side branch, stays there patiently for a few moments. Then she jumps into the nest...where Tom pretends his partner isn't even there. He begins to loosen the nest bowl...rolls the eggs...shakes here and there... :whistling:

Angel slips under him and now takeover is official. Tom leaves the nest.

Again something from the nest of Angel & Tom ... and the eggs. Two eggs seems to be the final score, doesn't it?

Tom takes care of Angel.
Today he brought a rodent, which Angel accepted with great enthusiasm - and apparently accepted.

Tom disappeared slightly behind Angel, who must have inhaled the rodent. :D There was no sign of that when Angel stepped aside.

And indeed, Tom used his partner's feeding time to slip onto the eggs quickly and unobtrusively. 8-)

Angel pushes him back...Tom has to go.

Too bad Tom, I would have treated you.

Angel doesn't let us have a clear view of the eggs. No obvious pip yet...

What a tragedy,

The chick was so sweet
Image

But on the first sight Tom killed his own baby - oh poor Angel, who was crying a lot
Image

After rewinding of both cameras I think it was an accident. Poor firsttimer Tom didn't realize it was his chick, he maybe recognized it as a prey ...

This is the last moment we can see the 12-hour-old chick alive. 😭😭😭

That is possible. If only Angel were present on the nest when he arrived... Alas...

April 29, evening.
The last opportunity to have a peek at the pip in the second egg before the nightfall. Maybe the chick will be ready in the morning?

April 30.
The chick hatched overnight or early morning.
But there was another concern. Tom has not shown up entire day. And it should be his duty to deliver most of the food. Angel left the chick alone for 11 minutes in the day, but did not return with any prey.
In the evening, Angel and the little chick.
