Great news, finally! ravens, delighted to see you again! Liz and all others for video footage and contributions! - This year, Estonia seems to be getting into spring swing a little later than in previous seasons (WTEs in Matsalu, Kaljukotkas here).

Nice to see familiar names, and faces (dear Helju). Greetings all.
Liz, I suspect the time stamps marked "middle spotted woodpecker" (Dendrocoptes medius) are instead the songs belonging to a grey-headed woodpecker (Picus canus). Let me know what you think.

Aside, thank you for your continued diligence. I won’t be able to be anywhere near as active as last season. Having trouble perching at a machine for long, in various ways, mentally, and physically. Plus I fractured my lateral malleolus, thus my poor foot is going to require a strong degree of rehabilitation to return to hiking shape. Ah well.
Onward.

ravens, you're right! How could I be so
I'm sorry to hear you're not in the best of physical shape. I hope you recover quickly.
It's very, very unfortunate that you don't want to have so much time. But health comes first!
I will also have less time. This year we have an eagle owl nest, again, and it looks like they are planning to breed at the camera nest this year. I'm very interested in that!
But I haven't decided yet which nest I want to watch closely this year.

Liz, last season I confused that grey-headed woodpecker’s voice for Margit. . . Was overly excited to hear anything from her after she had fledged. Eventually, the repetitive descending pattern to the call clued me in. Obvious in hindsight.
I am unfamiliar with most Old World birds. Wonderful to be able to "bird" and learn without being physically present, though. There is hope for me yet.
Thank you for the well wishes. <3
Ah, yes. I understand the draw to learn from a Bubo sp. I’ve been observing a nest of great horned owls (Bubo virginianus) here in the states. The variety of prey delivered can be nearly as exciting as with golden eagles. Love their duetting. Will have to compare behavior with the eagle owls should they have success!
Enjoy all the new wild hatchlings to be, where ever you alight.

Camera up again 14:45, no sign of breeding.
Well, 2 fledged eaglets in 3 years is not so bad
All yum-yum food is there like cranes, black grouse, lapwings, golden plover
Guess they are having a Golden Year with just enjoying life and no chicks to look after

This seems to be a kind of 'speed-nestauration':
around 11:31, he/she (I'm not familiar with the GEs) leaves.
