#1, #2 and #3 follow her beak like magnetically attracted. They overtake #4.



17:51:40 #3 lets itself be pushed away by the older ones.

17:52 feeding - Kaia brought dark smaller food. I could not recognise it.

Kaia spent the night near a little lake in the forest, at about 3.5 km from the nest.

At 04:33, she is in flight (45 km/h) towards fish basket 3 (the new one, in the almost dry river in a forest, at about 4.4 km from the nest).
She remains in that area until 06:13
At 06:18, she is in flight towards the nest (49 km/h)

At 06:22, Kaia comes home.

At 12:21, Kaia flies out.
At 12:23, she is in flight (55 km/h) towards the watercourse where fish basket 1 is (or used to be). I don't think the basket was filled.
Kaia remains in that wider area, looking for food in several ditches in a commercial forestry area, until 16:28
At 16:33, she flies towards the nest (46 km/h)
At 16:43, she is almost home (93 km/h)

At 16:45, Kaia comes home.

At 19:41, Kaia flies out.
At 19:43 (last known data point), she is in flight near the nest (37 km/h)

Karl II spent the night on the nest.

At 06:22 Karl II flies out. Het brings several times nesting material to the nest.

At 07:31, he leaves the nest area.
At 07:38, he is at the location where fish basket 2 used to be, in a brook at about 1.4 km from the nest. (I don't know if there is currently a basket. Probably not.)
At 08:38, he is near a pond close to a river, at about 8.5 km from the nest.
At 09:38, he is on that same river, but on a different part of it, about 9 km from the nest. (He often visits this place.)
At 10:38, he is on another river, further away, at about 16.5 km from the nest. That river connects two lakes.
At 11:38, he is still at that place

At 12:21, Karl II comes home.

At 16:46, he flies out.
At 17:38, he is in flight (48 km/h) near the same river as at 09:38
At 18:37, he visits the same location as at 09:38, about 9 km from the nest.
At 19:37, he is in flight towards the nest (35 km/h) and almost home

At 19:41, Karl II comes home.

I can't help but notice the amount of "without #4" in that detailed feeding summary.

The larger chicks eat very well.



They spread their wings when they eat.



#4 is at least pushing forward into the front row. But it got nothing.
