I'm glad everyone likes the long-eared owl cam I posted. Yes, that was a magpie harassing the poor owl. You got some really great photos, Starling; the owl's expressions are priceless. They nest in old magpie nests & other places, so perhaps this magpie felt it should assert a claim. Of course, all corvids harass all raptor birds no matter what. I just looked now, Macdoum (8:15 p.m. Montana time), & the owl is indeed still covered up with snow. Nature does not make it easy for our feathered mothers.
