Thank you Liz for Video.

FEB. 10.

Johannes Schrøder living at Smøla Island has a comment at Face Book about the current situation around the nest - GT translation:

"I am weekly in the area where the Baron lives and have seen him and another adult eagle throughout the winter. Most likely this is the new female mentioned.
I have not seen anything to indicate that they are building a new nest in the area.
The 2020 season was the first season without breeding for the Baron in many years and considering a possible change of husband, it is not so surprising that last year they did not go to breeding. Only time will tell, but I think the activity in the area looks promising for a new breeding attempt this year."

FEB. 13

14.42 visit by Baron and NF
15.46 Vocals from NF and Baron as a young eagle is in the territory. NF calls for the territory, but shows no interest in breeding or the nest. Maybe NF is only interested in the fish and birds Baron might offer it. Time is running out again for breeding attempt here - this year. Sad.

FEB. 27.

There will not be a breeding attempt at Barons nest on Smøla this year. It is over. The new female was not fertile - not ready to breed. Baron is waiting in its territory with great patience - and for a female ready to set offspring.

BUT - at the other WTEs nest - New Smøla Nest/Kuli nest - some 3 kilometers away there is a promising breeding attempt going on.
Camera has started and there is fresh dry straw in the nest bowl. And activity yesterday.
An elderly ringed male and a 6 years old female are present at the nest. Here the video by Lady Hawk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1WRZj1 ... UIDs2spO28

And here the video by Stream Bird: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0fb1Z6BRcc

Tha camera is not stable and switches of daily. Youtube adress therefor changes. Search for "Kuli nest" on youtube might lead you to the active camera.
