Happy welcome, little one.

What i saw was DNF listening when it was still dark. Pity that there is no time indication on the stream.
When did it hatch ? overnight ?

balistar, i don't know when it hatched. At the first feeding I thought I was seeing another chick, but it wasn't 100% sure! The second head is clearly visible at the second feeding.

DN13 is on the right

Redding Eagles

Good look to the three bobble heads.
Image

Feeding time, the parents feed very fair. Nobody must be hungry.

Females name is Liberty (most likely 22 years), the name of the male is Guardian, 7 years old (her third partner). She has three chicks for the third time.

Thanks, Birdfriend  , for info about this nest. They are looking great and cute :innocent:
Good to hear that they get fed fair, the female must be very experienced, it's not easy with three eaglets.

March 29th

:hi:

Decorah North

Today one of the baby eaglets was kicked out of the bowl by DNF - accidentally :slap:
She moved a stick from one side to the other and kicked it out with her left foot.

earlier today DNF tried to feed the eyeball of another alive fish, brought by Mr North, to the baby eaglets.
She tried to give it to DN14 first- too big, couldn't swallow it.
Then to DN13 - also too big. They both are still too young for this delicacy to swallow.

Liz, just to verify: Is this Berry Ma of Berry College Hancock Wildlife org? Because at a link I found it seems that Nov 30 they state that the male is the resident male, only the female is new. But perhaps this is a different nest or a different year? The reason I ask is bc I am interested in the question whether couples indeed attack individuals, or if the "rule" female against female and male against male mostly applies (which would make evolutionary sense, I think). Anyway, please do not feel compelled to answer and sorry in advance if I hurt your feelings - it is just that with all your experience of so many nests you're a great source of information, even during these dire days.

Liz01 wrote: March 30th, 2021, 3:27 pm For me is no evidence that the male was Berry Pa. I've watched them for many years. For me it was a new male with his pretty young mate. I stopped watching, when the brood failed. (the chick was for hours in the rain an died ) I will never watch the nest again. I loved Berry Ma.

ame, and others! sorry, is off topic!

That's incredible! They all seem to do it! As long as I'm watching the nest, the tiny eaglets climb out of the nest bowl. It must be in their genes .. leave the nest as soon as you can crawl :rotf:
