.
for many weeks I hear him trilling nearby.
A few times I spotted a pair of greenfinches. since a few years they are rather rare to see with us.
Today I caught one with the camera in the Crataegus laevigata. :D
The Crataegus laevigata is visibly getting on in years.
the partner of the greenfinch had disappeared in the dense ivy of the house wall opposite.
(good that the neighbor opposite had closed the blinds)

I am also very happy to hear and see the greenfinches here again. So many have died from the virus.

Followed by me (with the camera), from the cherry tree ...

I still have to identify this wading bird. He is about the size of a lapwing. EDIT: it'S a juvenile Ruff! (Calidris pugnax) There is a starling too! BTW: A group of 60 barn swallows also was breeding there.

a little beauty :innocent:
OK i think it is a juvenile Ruff (Calidris pugnax)
Juveniles are bright buffy with neat scaly patterning on the upperparts. Flight often rather lazy, with deep floppy wingbeats; note white underwings, white sides to rump, and feet projecting well past tail. Males are much larger than females.

They are about the size of a kibitz. A lapwing is the size of a pigeon!
