Aivar has reported that the water level is rising by 4 - 5 cms each day so here comes another Fifth Season at Soomaa.

The camera seems to have stopped at 06.57 this morning. Aivar knows about it now. He will check the set-up.

There is a power cut in the area of the webcam. The power company will restore the supply, probably in a few hours.

Like for the Käsmu camera, there is a 24 hour time lapse movie on LK's facebook page

“One can measure the greatness and the moral progress of a nation by looking at how it treats its animals” (Mahatma Gandhi)
"You can judge a man's true character by the way he treats his fellow animals" (Paul McCartney)

Thank you, Aivar. This was interesting. It seems the flood can happen anytime from December through April, then, not always in springtime only.

Since I was on the Facebook page I looked around there a bit and found, that a German TV team was there in February and did some shooting. I found the report on the homepage of the TV station, apparently they had a special on Estonia (with reports on e.g. an icebreaker for tourists in Finnland or breeding huskies in Norway). If you want to look, they are in Pärnu and doing something on ice sculptures, flights to the small island Kihnu in winter (also in Pärnu) and the report on Sooma, and the reporter is doing some kick sparking with Aivar  - I think also passing the place where the cam is situated

Here is the link to the Mediathek of NDR (the TV station) - and I hope it won't go offline any time soon:
