I can't speak for Estonia, but the boars we watch seem to be real wild boars, no mixes.
Here in Germany the wild boars (also no mixes, "normal" pigs usually don't get into contact with wild ones due to the keeping circumstances) have become a big problem, some 20, 30 years back they were only in certain areas with big woods, but now they seem to be everywhere, including cities (Berlin has a big problem with them in the suburbs). They cause a lot of damage, and if somebody hears we watch wild boars being fed in front of a camera, people tend to shake the head and think how crazy this is! But my guess is, that in Estonia it is not so much different as well.

Hello! I'm new to this forum, have watched the cameras for past few years. I was wondering if anyone knows when will the wild boar cam start this year? I have a couple of friends in the UK asking about it, very committed Estonian forest life fans :D

The boar cam should start sometime after the ground is frozen and the boars become more of a problem.

And the eagle feeding cam, I hope :loveshower:

The link to the cam has been removed from the main page, so I think the article must be about finishing the season.

I wouldn't like to switch the bear to boar right now: there will be no boars yet! Better leave this cam for a fortnight or so, before winter comes.

Yes, why not?
Or also the boar's feedingground in expectation of
what is coming? Maybe some birds or rd's will visit the place
now and then...
But we have to be patient still some time..it's still too early.
