Alutaguse Forest webcam 2012
Another season for the brown bear webcam watchers.
There will be no night lighting this season. There is not enough power in that part of the forest.

There is a lot of snow on the ground and a couple of maybe-ravens on the far right.
Edit: Sept. 5, 2012: the stream changed to: rtsp://193.40.133.138:80/live/karu

hip! i just opened the cam and i saw a beautiful but rather thin fox!
a lot of snow still.
ps: a very peaceful and noisefree soundscape.
ps 2nd time: it seems to be a girl fox: she curtsies to make pee-marks.

Congratulations to us all!
And sorry, been away most of the day, will sit down and get to grips with the translation of front-page article at once.
But you have all already understood the important thing anyway -
Bear Webcam is online.

Yayyy! We will see bears. But with no night lighting this year, Alice & I will have difficulty. . . we will not be able to do the night shift for you. That is when so many big bears came to eat last summer.

Translation of camera introduction is up http://www.looduskalender.ee/en/node/12770
But, hopefully, for moonlight night chances, and the summer nights, the camera will be on?Jo UK wrote:Another season for the brown bear webcam watchers.

And it is a little bit light -- what with the snow I could see something like a bear, if something like a bear or a raccoon dog were present.

Lots of ravens having breakfast over at the place where carcasses are left by the pine tree.

Sorry, I was at the American bald eagle cam, where it is getting exciting-- the first egg is pipped & I just heard & recorded the chick peeping from inside to its mom. Here if anyone is interested: viewtopic.php?p=133081#p133081
I don't think it is snowing, Flex. It seems to be melting a bit maybe. There may be bits of snow falling our of the trees. Or perhaps a bit of rain, it sounds like that once in a while.

A busy place. Hooded crows & ravens look for food.
I am now & look forward to what movies & photos all of you provide while I sleep. Enjoy the great new view of the Alutaguse Forest. Soon there will be bears, I remember from last year. Meanwhile, lots of ravens, crows, magpies, sometimes a buzzard, foxes, raccoon dogs, woodpeckers. It will be fun! I am tired now from watching cams all day long, including the American eagle cam where a chick will definitely be hatched out of its shell tomorrow (maybe later today for you), because the chick pipped the egg at 2pm local USA time 26 Mar, & I recorded it peeping to mom at 12:30 am local time tonight. Info at the "Other Birds & Animals" forum. viewforum.php?f=11 Goodnight / Good day, everyone.

Thank you for having the cam back. I am so nosy how things are going on this year. At the moment ravens are playing on the right above.

About Belgian webcam.
PS. Google search, instead of LKs search function, is often faster and easier to use in searching for posts, I have found. The exception is looking for author names.
I include Looduskalender as search word, or site (strangely, site doesn't work so well).
Brighter ideas, please?
