Re: Latvian LSE Nest Webcam 2012
Does anybody saw Metra yet?
A light wind swept over the corn, and all nature laughed in the sunshine.

Felis, your summary of the LSE season is very nice. It's always sad when things comes to an end, and the nests are empty.
What happened with Stephi was very heartbreaking, and we really learned about nature the hard way. But we was lucky to see two beautiful and proud eagles grow up, and leave the nest, Kalev and Miks.
So I think it has been a great season, after all, and I look forward to meet out eagle families again next year..
And Miks is still having meals in the nest, a great surprise, comparing to previous seasons
Thank you everybody, we really are a GREAT team
Good night

10:53 Delivery from Macho? Metra? - this all goes so very fast, no chance to see what it was - but my guess is a frog
After meal Miks was digging and hopping and playing prey with sticks

Thank you, Lussi, I hope I have not forgotten anything important. It was such an honour when Urmas asked me if I want to write it - but my thanks go also to you all here, as this year it was 3 nests to follow, plus Black Storks and also the ospreys ...Lussi05 wrote:Felis, your summary of the LSE season is very nice. Still, the LSE are "my" birds, and I enjoyed the time with the three chicks very much! We had to learn that nature can be hard this year! Hope next year we will see "our" birds again and with more luck!

It was interesting to read the summery of the 3 LSE nest.
Thanks @ Felis who had translated (english/german).
It was my first season at all the nests and is was a pleasure to follow the growing up of the chicks ( in good and in bad times).
I learned a lot about the behaviour of all this beautiful birds and now I'm totally fascinated about this kind of animal.

13:04 Miks has got a vole from a parent bird on the branch - he took it to the nest to swallow it - then back on the branch again.
