Thought I would share some pictures of some of my animals :) I have a lot, so I will spare you for that many pictures, but I have chosen some of my favorites.

First of all I/we have four cats.

Balou is a Maine Coon neutered male. He is almost 13 years old.
Image

Bettemis (means "Little kitty") is almost 10 years old. He's a neutered male domestic shorthair.
Image

Raziel (my nick on the net) is a domestic shorthair/ Maine Coon neutered female. She is 9 years old
Image

Then we have Cera, who is a neutered female of mixed breed. The picture is when she was 12 weeks old. Now she is 4 years.

We have at the moment 35 rabbits. I used to breed them, but I have stopped because I don't have the health to it anymore. So now they are just our pets :) In the sommer they come out in the garden in a leash or in a graising pen (big cage). Most of the rabbits are born here :) But of course some of them are bought so we didn't inbreed.

Some of my favorite rabbits:

Beauty from 2007
Image

Kyoukou from 2011
Image

Skygge (means Shadow) from 2012
Image

Shasha from 2012
Image

Kaptajn (means Captain) from 2011

Most of our rabbits are on my blog http://hobbydyrene.blogspot.dk/ or webpage http://www.hobbydyrene.dk if you want to see more ;) My webpage contains pictures of most of the animals that have lived here over the years.

Besides cats and rabbits I also have birds (3 cockatiels and 2 budgies). I used to have a lot of birds (100-200) but I got allegic to them, so unfortunately I had to stop bredding, and the ones who are left are very old.

I have 6 snakes (5 cornsnakes and a ball python), 7 leopard geckos, big african snails (Achatina fulica) and both me and my oldest daughter have an aquarium each. (By the way... i have 5 children and they all have animals too :) )

Raziel: It's nice you introduced your " little zoo". Your cat's and rabbits are really lovely. We had also a lot of reptils in the last years (leopard geckos(Eublepharis macularius), beard dragon(Pogona), water dragon(Physignathus lesueurii), frilled neck lizards(Chlamydosaurus kingii) and others. But now we have only two neck lizzards (born in 1999). And our two kinkajous (potos flavus).

I just wanted to show some photos of our 2 parrots. They are Eclectus parrots, a girl and a boy. The girl is born in November 2008, she is named Charly and she is the red parrot. The boy, Felix, is born in March 2010 and he is the green bird.

This is Felix after his daily shower:

No, not at the moment.
For breeding parrots you need a license in Germany, but we don't have that.
And also it's not easy to breed eclectus parrots because lots of eggs are unfertilized. Only very few of the laid eggs are fertilized and will hatch.

Both of our parrots are quite young, they started mating (or mating training  ) last year in October, but the male parrot is still too young, so it doesn't really work out, it looks very funny. Felix is still very playful and he wants to mate but doesn't know how. He then walks over Charly's back or stands on her back and doesn't know what to do.
Although Eclectus parrots could breed the whole year through, Charly is only willing to mate in October and in April. And if she doesn't want to, she chases Felix off.

I didn't know you needed a license to bredd parrots in Germany. Here in Denmark everybody can breed their birds. I have been breeding small parrots, parakeets and small birds for many years. The recent years I have had to stop breeding since I have become allergic to birds :(
Now I just have 5 birds left (3 cockatiels and 2 budgies). They are in an outside aviary with acces to an indoor flight in my stable.

More photos of the cats here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/luz4711/se ... 813907544/

Mojo - 15 years old - born in Fuerteventura, took a flight to Germany at the age of a about 5 or 6 month to Germany.
Likes to watch the nests, sometimes pushes the delete button or submits my posts before I'm through, is not afraid of vacuum cleaners....
Image
This is him together with Jefe-Jefe Pepe (Jefe because he is bossy since he was born), 16 years old, also born in Fuerteventura and flying to Germany. He was about 2 month old then.
They had put poison out in the hotel/apartment area to kill the cats around. The ones that were not killed by the poison after having very strong pain for hours were killed with baseball bats. One guest did see this and had a heart attack.
Pepe survived this "event". After this a lady from TUI started an action together with an airplane company and the hotel owners. A doctor came from Germany and castrated the cats which were left. This action has taken place since 1997 and is still going on to now in the hotel area. They even have feeding places for them. This is only possible because there are no others hotels around in the dunes. It is a protected landscape and no more buildings allowed.
see here: http://www.fuerteventura-alternativ.de/ ... ejo-dunes/

Image

And this are the twins Max & Moritz. Born in 1999. Guess where they come from 8-). They were about 3 weeks old when I took them with me. The mother came one day with them to my room. I took her to the doctor for castration and I did feed the babies with special milk (adaption). After she came back from the doctor the babies refused to have contact with her. It broke my heart, but there was no other way to help them to survive. And of course she had no milk anymore.
Image
Max died 2 years ago at the age of 12 (cancer) and Moritz last year (hyperthyroidis and oversized heart). Moritz was always very shy like his mom. Every time at the vet he had to be anesthetized, otherwise it was not possible to examine him. This sure cannot be done too often. They way how I feel and think about euthanasia? Well none of them would have become that old at the place they were born. They had a good life being with me.
Pepe and Mojo still are sort of healthy for their age and I hope they will stay with me for a few years more. (one cat of mine become 18 1/2 years old) But never again I will let a cat suffer when it is seriously ill without the chance of cure just because it is my wish that they will be around me longer. I did this once. I loved the cat (like I always did all of them, some more, some less) but he had a lot of pain (acute renal failure) and medicine/special food just brought a little effect for a while. Him and Pepe were together for a little while. After Paul died Mojo took his place.
