some sort of an alarm sounded for a while! :puzzled:

it didn't go on for very long, only about a minute. it took me some time to find out where the sound was coming from.
- i wonder what that was..??? :puzzled:

The local bear's alarm clock - it's spring? Time to get up. :rotf:

We had different reports of when the camera will stop. Renno said it will be removed "a few days" after feeding stops.
Urmas said it will remain until the snow goes. So it could be here for quite a long time, yet!

Probably there is no urgency to remove it, so it waits until it is convenient for someone to go there. I would choose a time when there is less snow, but who knows?

there were some birds whose ring identifications were somewhat unclear. i'd be grateful (and Renno, too!) if someone could find any pictures showing rings of the following birds on the mentioned dates:
  • Jan 4 and 22: Fin SW (white/red) V331 (orange over blue; this was a little unclear but nearly certain)

Jan 6: Estonian (blue/white) black over blue bird (code missing)

Jan 11: Estonian (blue/white) black over blue bird (code missing)

Jan 19, 21, 22: Estonian (blue/white) with all-black year ring (1st winter choco, code missing)

Feb 7: Fin SW (white/red) C309 (Alice wrote in early morning that she had seen it. i believe her but it would nice to have a picture)
--- pictures of this bird has been found. thank you!

Feb 8: Fin SW (white/red) with all-blue year ring (code missing)

Feb 9: Estonian (blue/white) with orange over blue year ring (code missing)

Feb 20: orange over blue year ring (probably Estonian (blue/white), code missing)

Feb 22: Fin SW (white/red) with orange over blue year ring (code missing)
and Fin Lapland (white/black) with black over red year ring (code Z8?? so end is missing)

Mar 3: Estonian (blue/white) black over blue bird (code missing)
and Fin Åland (red/black) with red over black year ring (code D2?? so end is missing)

March 11: Fin SW (white/red) with all-black year ring (code F3?? so end is missing; this is 1st winter choco)
if you find any pictures that might be helpful please contact me, or post the pictures directly here.

Arghhh ... it finally really happened .... cam seems to be disconnected for this season :faint:

A huge "Thank you" to everybody who was involved to make this cam running, caring for new food and put it out on the feeding ground .... to our zoomers - what a great job!!! Every day zooming for many hours more than three months!!!

Ame, collecting best pics and facts for your summary was a lot of work and the result is wonderful!

About ames´ question what was the best moment .... I thought a lot about it - but couldn´t find one special thing because there were so many

Every evening I waited for Rennos´ comments, it was so interesting to read background infos about the Estonian birds, particularly about "his Babys" :bounce:

Fascinating for me the "look" of the birds who have already seen many seasons, what may they have seen and gone through already .... (for ame: the very elder adult birds! )

And this young shy Fluffy in one of the late days, it seemed to have just jumped out of its nest by accident although it was already some months old ...

But all these observations would only be half the fun if there was not the possibility to share it with all you forum people here :gathering:

Already today looking forward to next season and may all the birds we´ve sen here have a good year until next winter, when we will hopefully meet them again!
