Sova, the camera is located in the UK and is provided by Beleef de Lente

VIEW OUR OTHER WEBCAMS
The white-tailed eagle is the largest UK bird of prey. It has brown body plumage with a conspicuously pale head and neck which can be almost white in older birds, and the tail feathers of adults are white. In flight it has massive long, broad wings with 'fingered' ends. Its head protrudes and it has a short, wedge-shaped tail.

They went extinct in the UK during the early 20th century, due to illegal killing, and the present population is descended from reintroduced birds.

White-tailed eagles are versatile and opportunistic hunters and carrion feeders, sometimes pirating food from other birds and even otters. They eat largely fish, but also take various birds, rabbits and hares.

When fishing, they fly low over water, stop to hover for a moment and drop to snatch fish from the surface.

During the breeding season while they are rearing young, they require 500-600g of food per day. This drops to 200-300g per day during the winter months when the birds are less active.

We hope that you enjoy watching our webcams, the feeds for which were kindly provided by the Beleef de Lente Project, courtesy of Vogelbescherming Nederland and so some multilingual messages may appear on occasion.

It might look like the camera is located in the UK, but the actual webcam itself is located in the Netherlands at De Alde Faenen, which is owned and managed by It Fryske Gea:

There is a blog on the nest, as well as a short description of the nest location and history (both in dutch) as well.

The description on the English webcam page is actually copied from the RSPB's page on white-tailed eagles: https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildl ... led-eagle/

A couple of eagles could be seen at the end of January. A few days later, the information about the death of the L21 female appeared, which made a pair in this nest

A few days after her death, the male flew to the nest again, but in the following days he didn't reappear.

There is a new nest with streaming camera, started in December 2022.
White-tailed eagle in the National Park Lower Kama, Tatarstan, Russia
The YouTube streaming is accompanied with chat with a large active community of participants. The language is mostly Russian, but other languages, in particular English, are also accepted.

YT channel: orlan.beloxvost
Live streaming: https://www.youtube.com/live/MHpG2erIcgw?feature=share

Recently, 4 different white-tailed Eagles, probably 2 pairs were visiting the nest.

February 2. Two White-tailed eagles visit the nest.

February 3. Probably a female visits the nest.

February 4. A Woodpecker, close-up.

Quote from the YT-infobox:
"In 2024
The couple of eagles was first seen together on February 15.
The first mating happened on February 23.
The first egg was laid on March 27, the second one was on March 30.
The first eaglet hatched on May 2. The second eaglet hatched on May 5."

Chulman and Kama: They have two beautiful chicks - and half a pond of fish on their nest - I have never seen such an amount ...

:hi: rysx, Susanne,

today even more fish....
if this incredible delivery service continues like that they soon will have to build another nest closeby as pantry
just after a feeding....
younger one didn't get more than one single bite... older one keeps pecking down the younger one

Image

hailstorm and male in with just another fish :slap:

Edit: I very much like the style and layout and position of the date/time line on the stream. Very good readable and I can take screenshots the old-fashioned way, without the "red line".
