Store Mosse feb. 10
Yesterday Estonian 415K was there shortly but was chased away by the old matrona Fox that rules the feeder, guess if she soon lies on eggs the estonian eagle will be visible more like last year, pecking order seems to be 2 anyway
Last week the finnish 1w eagle (above) turned out to be 322N after a couple of days of fiddling around another from Finland was also seen: 024N confusing.
Today the finnish 024N was here again in the afternoon:

Store Mosse Feb.24
Estonian 3w 415K having a good breakfast and filled the crop:
New dark feathers on the right side greater coverts, left side still old and bright in the middle. Chasing away a young WTE
Two more visits today and the solution is very simple - just cover the snow with twigs.

The couple was less active today, but still.
They work in the nest where there is no snow (in the area of the tree trunk).
I don't know if it's male or female... yesterday they also bit nest material right next to the nest. (bark, branches)
They shouldn't do that too often.
By the way, this spot of earth is a paradise for everyone who loves the chirping of birds!
Finally, new stream since this afternoon and look - the snow is gone.
An eagle sits a little apart from the nest.
I don't know if it Caliman or Lucina.
Loch Garten Goshawk Camera
This year's Goshawk nest has arrived and we are waiting to see if the Goshawks will successfully breed for a second year on camera.
Last year they hatched 4 chicks with 3 successfully surviving to fledgling age. Those who have watched a season before will know the excitement of watching these amazing raptors as they grow quickly and squabble often!
