Three white storklets were taken from the nest in Moravia. One of the parents was killed on the road, the other stork couldn't rise the storklets, so they were taken away to a local resque station. They'll spend there a few weeks then get rings and will be released.

According to Jitka Maixnerová from the rescue station in Ruda nad Moravou, the storks were too small for only the remaining stork in the pair to take care of them. “In these circumstances, it depends on how old the chicks are and whether they are free of feathers, as well as the weather. If they are without feathers, one of the parents must sit on the nest and warm it up, especially when it is raining. In this case, the chicks were too small, it wasn't even discussed, they came off the nest, "the station worker explained.

Partizanska/Slovakia

Aren't moments like this good? :innocent:
We've seen a lot of storks die (not everything has been shared here) but look.... let's wish these survivors a safe journey.

:hi: Polly, thank you very much. Yes, moments like this make our hearts sing :headroll:

Did you notice the brown one in the middle back?
Immediatelly i thought of him being the "black swan" of the white storks among all the black and whites :D

(i'm so happy, five minutes ago i rescued a cabbage white butterfly that had become entangled in a spider web and was fighting for its life :loveshower: )

@balistar :hi:

Yes, he's weird, isn't he? :innocent:
He also pecks around a lot...

At first I thought that this stork escaped from a mud hole, but the drawings are so clear that it might actually be the coloring of the feathers?

Yes, it's the plumage, i suspect a genetic anomaly ?
Weird, i couldn't find anything about such a peculiarity.

Not too good news from Makov: 1. today the small bird feeder was removed after a greenfinch with trichomonosis appeared there. Feeding is stopped for some time. 2. Also in winter time there will be no longer feeding bowl near the pond to avoid visiting wild ducks. 3. The cygnet got its leg injured and was caught and taken to a vet clinic. :unsure:

Upd: all the ducks and Popelka arrived in the evening as if nothing happened.
