thank you Solo ... there are beautiful pictures of these two men bringing food. I hope so much that everything works out and that all 4 little ones survive, even for the father, it is not easy.
But ... they are good people who do that. My heart is very warm right now ...

:hi: Sova,
you're welcome

  - it is great

however, it is necessary to start preparing food (and water) for the male near the nest so that the chicks do not get used to the presence of people (and people as a source of food)
similarly, it succeeded the previous year on another czech nest (female perished - 3 storklets on the nest)

Stork-father looks short for younger chick. It seems he wanted to throw it out. But then changed his mind.

- it is highest time to stop helping in this way and preparing the suitable food somewhere in the vicinity, from where the male takes it
- the chicks are at risk of losing their shyness in front of humans and fixation on humans as a source of food

- this opinion was expressed on FB by a Hungarian bird rescuer (mostly dedicated to white storks) and I agree with him
- now it is just an attraction for observers on youtube

The laws of this year are: sugar happens always when it is possible and even when it seems to be impossible. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

The nest with five babies in Hungary, Sofi and Macus, the storklets are more than one month old:

Sofi is a wild stork, Macus lives in the resque station.

"i don't know the situation there, it was about this nest conversation on the youtube chat (PL - BS Łodz), so i checked it - the fifth storklet is so very, very little"

today the first and the second attempt to throw little one away was not successful - this little fighter after long time crawled back in the nest bowl from the nest rim, but at 16.32 the adult stork throw him out from the nest
very, very sad view

I am very sorry for him, but I think he would have died soon anyway (starved)
I know only bad end this tiny storklets, if they do not throw them, they still die on the nest sooner or later

It succumbed to injuries caused by siblings (by the late evening feeding in the dark at 22.33) in the early morning short after 04.03. At 6.31 the body thrown female Bohunka out.
hatch: 25.05. at 15:30
death: 07.06 after 04:03 (unbelievable - benjamin lived 12 days)

btw. on the day he hatched, his oldest sibling was able to swallow a big mouse

Only the strongest and most adaptable individuals will survive. Even fewer individuals with quality skills can give a good foundation for the next generation. So let's really consider when to intervene in this process.

There are very nice 4 storklet :-). It is hard to see for us, but better for the storks population (and for the poor little one).

It was something definitely wrong with its development, because the fifth storklets in Sokulka and in Hungarias resque station are not that small, the fifth storklet in the same nest from last year had also normal size. But, yes, if Ben was taken from the nest to some resque station, it would have lived a bit longer.

P.S.also rather bad event happened in Makov, Tonik injured the elder storklet.
