:hi: Solo .... thank you, I'm always happy to hear about Skierka (Yellow)!
Tell me, is that normal? They are probably young BS who have already left nest, right?
I've never seen anything like it.
Hopefully they will all get enough food :D

In Dab nest in 2018 and 2019 one stranger storklet came and left for night, but I don't remember whether it was fed. Skierka is a great mom: while other parents get rid of their own kids, she fed the stranger ones! :loveshower:

in terms of the survival of her offspring, it was a bad decision:
1 / only the older storklet is flying from her offspring so far - they need to receive even more food from the adult storks (than the visitors)
2 / instead of half a portion they had only fifths (and only in the case of the optimal variant; a foreign trio could eat everything)

in white storks I saw both tolerance and feeding, but also expulsion by the storklets themselves, but especially by adults storks

anthropomorphization isn't good way to understand animals behaviour

Solo, my God, I know that!
But I was overwhelmed by the event.
I mean, I'm someone who keeps asking questions and likes to admit that I don't know something, but still, I don't need a teacher who stands behind me with the pointing finger raised ...

the explanation should be very simple. They respond to begging and they cannot explicitly offer food to just the own chick.
And it shows that after they have fledged they will not recognize their young.
This is not the romantic behavior of a "good" mother" She is not the mother! And it seems she doesn't know.
That is also the reason why the superfluous chicks are thrown out of the nest, asteria! They can only spit the food into the nest, nothing else.

She could just chase all the 3 strangers away and then feed the kids of her own but she did not. So it was her choice. Remember, how "kind" were Marushka&Honzik to the young fledged storklet Miro when it just appeared not even in the nest but nearby.

It is also worth adding that Finesse sent items from August 5. SMS came only today, so the Finesse logger works well, when he's in a good mood, Finesse is still near Plovdiv Information from professor P.Z
