Re: Spring and summer in Finland 2014
9th July
An other mother squirrel. She had a wound on the forehead and there is missing some fur around it. Today on the 17th July I saw her and the fur is growing back on her forehead, so the wound has recovered.
Blue berries are ripe! The dirty mouths reveal the fact, and also some blue bird poop on the path stones in the garden.

Thank you Olga for lovely videos and pictures of squirrels.
They are very cute. Squirrel who use one paw for eat is awesome.
Thank you also for videos with Woodpecker, Wood Pigeon and Wood mouse.
Not only birds and squirrels are enthusiasts of blueberries. I like to eat blueberries too (especially with whipped cream).

With the new tail, it looks almost a new squirrel.
(I also had lots of blue berries -- I ate mine with yoghurt.)

Thank you Olga for your beautiful pictures and videos.
It's very interesting how tail of squirrel changed in a few weeks.
Earlier I was worried that this squirrel is sick but now I see that he looks fantastic.
He is very handsome squirrel. ♥

Margossa, me too was a bit worried, but the new fur coat begun to be seen quite fast. It has happened in the earlier summers too, that some squirrel loose not only the tassel fur, but also the tail fur. It is relieveng to see how beautiful tails all squirrels have now. Soon begin the tassels return too! My goodnes, it means that summer does not last forever!
It has been a very hot July this year, it's the hottest in 26 years.
Strange, but June was the coldest one in some decades!
I haven't taken as much videos as I could have been able. I desided not interfere that much in the life of squirrels, espesially in the life of pups! They will move elsewhere, most of them have done it earlier.
One day in the beginning of July I opened window to put more nut crumbs on the paltform. Suddenly a little head pushed from the feeder. It was a pup that I had not noticed that it was there. The little squirrel opened the moth and it took taste from my finger! Actually it did not bite the finger... But wondered woul they become too tame??? I do not want them to become tame, to become too dependent on nuts! This has been my consern... it is the same with birds! Small birds, the chicks and fleglings need other food too, flies, mosquitos, worms etc without any question.
Wood pigeons seem have begun their migration?? I haven't seen them lately.
Some videos from July follow..

31st July:
Thunder weather and rain went by Squirrel hill. It may begin in the evening though. Rain would be needed!
We were a bit scared that some heavy storm come and hurt the trees of the hill - the weather proadcast warned that today the most heavy thunder storms will be strongest in this summer. We were lucky here on the hill, until now!
One of the small birches looks not good:
