16:28 Durbe whines again... and someone flew to the tree. the stranger is back.
this is a persistant eagle.
after a minute it flies away.
Liz, it seems that we have overlapping videos, but who cares.

this is i think the best picture of the stranger that can be obtained from the videos. it has still a dirty tail but not very dark like the eagle yesterday.
here's a gif of the stranger flying away from the tree top at 16:09.

another chance to see the stranger a little better was at 16:13 when it returned to the tree top.
maybe it was bare-footed?

16:54 some swans flew by with singing wings.
17:03 a tawny owl called for a while.
the tower lights shine in the dark and the stream burbles downstairs. soon the camera will go to sleep.

Also on this day. Thanks for the great pictures and videos
it's interesting, how diverse can be the voices of eagles. Durbe always surprises me.
I heard in the spring already different voices from her. Also over the entire breeding season. She has more repertoire than Robert?
Perhaps these "voices" have for potential nest occupants, is act as a deterrent? So that it does not come to a fight?
What I want to write, is almost too complicated for me. my english isn't good enough.

i think that probably eagles like other beasts of prey try to avoid physical contact and fight to the end because their weapons are lethal. on both sides the likelihood of getting lethally injured in a physical fight is too high compared to the risk. therefore it is better and usually sufficient to be content with a fight consisting of threats only. among the threats gestures and calls are commonly used. in a way they measure the size of their antlers against each other. often that is all that is needed and the 'weaker' partner of the conflict leaves.
i have noticed that an intruder or a strange visitor has never made any voices here at the eagle's nest. they keep low profile. the owners of the nest are the ones who make voices. those voices are some whining and squealing voices which sound very in our human ears. i suppose in eagle ears they must be much more powerful. that is enough for them to state their right of ownership and the intruder leaves.

Thank you Ame!
yes, it is conceivable, that this whining and squealing voices for other eagles have great importance.

8:07:50 someone landed on the tree and maybe 30 s later someone flew by or left the tree. a big bird. bigger than a raven i think but i don't think it was Durbe or Robert.
i think this is the tip of an eagle's wing.

i wonder if the eagle who stopped on the tree top was Durbe after all, just making a short check.

are you sure it was Durbe? the voice sounded strange to me..? first i thought it wasn't an eagle at all, but i think it was. but it didn't sound like Durbe or Robert either. i think it was a stranger, perhaps a young eagle learning to sing.
here's for comparison Durbe's call early this morning. the voice is quite different.

it's definitely an eagle.
Whether it was Durbe? I am not sure . I thought it, because she is here today
9:32 EDIT: I heard the comparison in yours videos. You're right. It sounds very different
