MAY 29.
Yesterday I got another picture of the male feeding the chick.
The chick does not see the food in the beak of the male, when the food is put to the left side
The chick hesitates to eat the piece of meat.
I am very worried what will happen when this young eagle starts to fly.
A pity.

MAY 31.

After 8 years of TV from the nest, we finally got a picture of the male guarding the nest nearby.
Obviously something interesting on the ground.
Thank you for the new camera and to DOF

Image

Before we saw the male on the branch, we got a look at the hunting ground direction East

Male brings a prey and feeds the chick.

Afterwards the straw in the nestbowl is ariated once again,
While a spider is watching the scene from the camera lense.
Maybe the lense is a bit warmer than the surroundings?
Male leaves the nest at 08.05

The chick is not using the left eye. It is a big handicap in the life of a young WTE

Ole Friis Larsen today:
We do not know more about the left eye than anyone can watch on our live streaming from the nest. Kim Skelmose has tried several times to get pictures that we could show an expert in the eyes, but it has not succeeded well enough. We think that the eagle may see something with the left eye, but that it is not fully functional. It's just our bid - not a conclusion. The tick has certainly fallen off again, but new ones may have arrived. It is very common to see ticks on the eyelids of chicks in nests.

Another close up. Bad it is.

June 8.

Around 8 o´clock in the evening Female is at the nest.
It finds 3 wings with some meat og feeds the chick.
Search the nest for food many times.
Great with an empty nest during night in these summer days.

A comment on the chat - you never know how credible, but we can always hope :2thumbsup:
I have talked to a chief physician in eye diseases and viruses
He says that if the little eagle has had a strong eye inflammation / tick, the muscles in the eye can become tight and it can take months / half a year to become normal. and this also applies to birds
It's called a lazy eye
In us humans, it is treated with a pat on the healthy eye 3 to 4 hours a day.
But here nature must go its own way. But in between we can see that the eye is open and the cornea also works
It should probably do
Beautiful bird and how big it has become.
Thanks to the whole team behind Eagles TV

I do not think that there has been much food delivery today.
Once again 3 old wings are ripped from swing feathers and shared between the Female and the chick. Mostly bones. It is ok for the night for both.
Goslings are ok.
It is time to bring Coots. We will see.

There is simply no eye.

I really want this chick to be able to overcome all the laws of its body and neurofunctions and become a great one-eyed eagle, living a full life.
Smile, you're being filmed by a hidden camera!
