Wow, a little triple. I'm so happy for that pair.

Finally so expeted first hatching on May, 25 at ~20:56
It took a bit, but at last we have our first boblet
For the first time we have in this nest FOUR eggs
so we were awaiting this first litlle one more and more impatienly each day.
Considering that eggs were laid regularly on 14-17-20-23 of Apr, the hatching window for the first one should be opened since last Wed 19th till today, and after that soon for the other ones. But the first one happened today, at the end of the window, hmmm ... does it mean something ?
Parents are excellent, long-bonded pair and eggs are incubated all the time by both of them very attentivenly, and the weather was not bad. So I think that maybe not all eggs are fertilized ... ? We have to wait for the end of hatchings.
Today's hatching by SPietrek:
live ( + very friendly YT-chat, multilingual if needed ):
And btw, why you are missing the Eschenbach nest
It's very nice placed, parents are very much caring for eggs and now for babies. And I remember - some years ago they had four eggs, too

Osprey Nest in Urdaibai (Spain - Basque country)
French female Landa and Scottish male Roy are the first ospreys breeding in Urdaibai marshes for 'hundreds of years'. They are part of a relocation program between Basque country and other european countries. First egg of three laid on April 19.

Hello modi
Thank you very much for the info, for discovering us this beautiful nest and for the link :)
The nest is very nicely located, just at the sea, so birds have fish 'on demand', each moment. On the other hand the Bay of Biscay can be very unfriendly, as sailors say since centuries.
The stream is of excellent quality and Camera Operators are working now, in the evening, showing us - apart from birds - all view around, including wonderful sunset. The camera is super ! - can show far sunset and in a moment close-up of Landa, as well, so close, that we can count feathers on her head, and IR in the night
Really, very nice, very positive first impressions !
So, once more thank you very much, modi
As the first egg was laid on Apr 19, so it's time for hatching in each moment !!!
If you know that Landa is French and Roy is Scottish, I mean they both are ringed ( I already saw his ring ), so is it known their age? How old are they ? Is that their first breeding season together ?
I wish you Landa & Roy have a succesful season and three strong and healthy juveniles
I've heard about plans to reintroduce ospreys in Italy and Spain, mainly from Scottland. Some time ago I was looking for info about Italy, but it was not satisfying, and I didn't yet try to find something about Spain.
Till today Spain is for me one of area on migrating ways between Europe and Africa, where birds can sit down for hunting and eating or rest on their way. Also I read that probably some ospreys are wintering in Spain.
You said 'first for hundreds of years', but the nest seems not like a new one ;) ? Of course, it's by human made platform, but was it occupied earlier by other birds, there are so many nest material, very thick layer of sticks and others ?
And do you know what way were the birds invited to this nest ? It really is very interesing. I didn't go yet to any article put in the description below the live, but I will do :) I'd like to know more about this project and I'm curiuos how it will be developing.

Hello SilverGirl,
you're right, camera and stream quality is very good and I also like the view of the surroundings.
The male was born 2013 and the female 2018. They're found each other last year but the female was too young for breeding. It's not sure if they are successfull because of the young age of the female. I don't know if the male has breeding experiences. Let's see...
More information can be found on the website of the Urdaibai birdcenter:

Any other followers of the Urdabai nest becoming a little nervous??
Today is 42 days from first egg laid and 39 from the second, and still we see no Osprets.
I have followed the Estonian and Latvian nests for many years and I don't remember seeing such a long incubation.
Are we still within the possibility of seeing successful hatching?
I have all fingers crossed

Jojo
Yesterday evening I've read on the chat that probaly the fist egg was not incubated during 2 or 3 first nights, very cold, as peple wrote.
But I don't know if it really was
I watch this nest since 2 days only.
