thanks Liz!
i made a complete set (mainly for myself).
8:34 Raimis came in first and right after him Milda. i think that neither had anything to bring. they worked on the nest for a while.
8:37 Raimis went to the outer left branch. he seems to think that it is far enough from Milda.

8:40 Milda went to the top branch. she likes wider views.

8:42 Milda ruffled her feathers and brushed Raimis face with her tail. Raimis almost dared to pull her tail :whistling:
but then he only scratched his ear.

8:44 Milda flew out and Raimis flew right after her.

8:45 Raimis came in with a stick. he worked on the nest...

8:46 Milda came with a stick. then both worked together.

8:47 Milda kissed Raimis rather gently but Raimis went to the left branch anyway, to be on the safe side.

8:48 Milda went to the top branch.

8:49 Milda flew out first and Raimis right after her. both flew to the left.

8:53 Milda returned with a stick. she didn't work much. most of the time she 'only' looked around. - i wrote 'only' in parenthesis because i believe that 'looking around' ia also very important work for them.

8:56 Milda got up to the top branch.

she stayed there and went on looking around...
8:59:58 a voice of a bird of prey, maybe a buzzard? (maybe this was the voice which i heard while i was recording these videos from the delayed stream?)

9:03 Milda flew away, to the right this time.

12:42:12 an eagle flew away from the top. how long was the eagle there??

12:29:30 the eagle flew over the meadow and by the nest. then she landed on the top. (i guess that the eagle was Milda; she likes to sit on the top).

12:42 the eagle flew away.

edit: i found probably buzzard's voices at 10:02.
this video is made of 3 clips.

12:47 two swans flew from behind the pond and then by the nest tree to the left.

about half a minute later they returned from the left and flew by to the right. then they sang, too.

14:30 a raven flew to the top and began to 'sing'.
14:31 he flew away.

good morning!

yes, laranjeiras, i think you have them correct. :2thumbsup:
in the first picture the beak is short and curved all the way: a male = Raimis. also his ankles are thin compared to Milda's ankles. Raimis has also lighter plumage than Milda. however, usually it's not easy to see these two details if they are not both on the nest at the same time.
in the last picture the spots are small: Milda. the spots of Raimis are cleary larger than hers. Raimis also has "mustache" on his tail, the dark stripes down each side of the tail. Milda's tail is clear and white, excepting the spots in the middle.

8:29 Raimis flew to the top branch. i suppose that it is a sign of spring, coming so early. soon they will begin to sing before dawn. :D

a pygmy owl also had spring in his heart. he whistles for some time.
8:32

8:33 a longer song.

you're welcome, laranjeiras! :D

8:43 Raimis came down from the top to the nest.

8:47 he rubbed his bottom against the nest. then Milda came in. soon Raimis went to the left branch. then Milda jumped to the right branch. it was a bit too early to really work yet.
in the thumbnail picture of this video the tail of Milda can be seen: small spots and no stripes on the sides. the border line between the white and the black is clear smooth.

8:56 Raimis flew of to the left and Milda followed him.

12:11 - 12:13 an eagle's voice maybe, twice. first a short call at 12:11:53, then a little more at 12:13:07.
this video is made of two clips.
edit: or was it a real eagle? probably not. :puzzled:

12:49 a crested tit made a short appearance on the nest. :D

Dec 30

good morning!
light has come. there's some clear sky now. water droplets are hanging from the tips of cones and the stream is burbling downstairs. the straws in the centre of the nest look grey. is there some snow? :puzzled:

there was some sounds at 7:21:23 very near the camera. i think it's rather impossible to say what made the sounds. anyway i have no idea what caused the sounds. :puzzled:
it was quite dark still.

9:13 it's raining sleet.

hmh!? the three eagle's beak-sized holes in the centre of the nest have disappeared.
someone has been here.
... aha, thanks Liz. btw: i went to have some coffee. now i'm as perky as i can be on such a cloudy day (which is not much... it's raining sleet here, too.)

i'll make some clips.
9:45 they came home, Raimis first and Milda right after him. she kissed Raimis. this time it must have been less scary than usually (although it looked rather rough), as Raimis didn't escape. they worked together for a while...
9:46 Raimis flew away.

9:47 Milda got upstairs.

9:58 Milda returned to the nest. she fluffed the hay on the nest...

10:00 she jumped to the right branch and went almost out of sight.

10:02 she flew away.

besides: it's high time soon that Raimis should bring Milda a nice fishie!

that's a nice picture of Raimis' tail, too.

13:07:41 an eagle's voice from the forest? :puzzled:

14:45:20 Milda flew in looking excited and seconds later came Raimis. also he looked alarmed. both looked up in the sky and then they called...
edit: Milda brought a green twig when she came.
a little later an eagle flew over the nest. an intruder?
Image

Raimis jumped to the left branch. both look still a bit upset.

14:48 Raimis returned to the nest and they made some nest work. then Raimis got back to the outer left branch. both looked a bit alarmed again.

14:51 (nearly) Milda got up to the top branch.
