The Animal of the Year 2018, Lynx camera

Post by juta »

The Animal of the Year 2018, Lynx camera is placed in RMK Elistvere Animal Park

https://loodusegakoos.ee/elistvere-anim ... nhabitants

In this particualar place we hopefully will see Gella(female), Lars and Koopailves(both boys). There is another young female, who lives in separate place so far.

As they write: Gella has a light-coloured coat, and Lars is darker. However, Koopailves (Cave Lynx) is only described as being shy.

It is a zoo, with people behind a fence.

Although this place is open to visitors, it´s more like sanctuary for injured or orphaned Estonian wild animals and their descendants.

"Wild animals live with people because of injuries resulting from accidents or due to the loss of their mother. RMK Elistvere Animal Park is a place where mostly just this kind of wild animals live who depend on people at the will of fate".

thank you hagnat and juta for clarifications about this place - it will be interesting to see when animals make their presence on camera - i expect when humans are not so much around perhaps...

As far as I know (i.e. googled), Gella and Lars come from the Tallinn Zoo. Gella was born there in 2012; I could not find more information about the mentioned male.
