Also around 08:05 yesterday one was close to the nest but not in sight. As far as I know they were not on the nest for the whole day. Only part of the nest was blown away by the at times strong wind.

@Hagnat
Thank you for writing this. I am still very uncertain about distinguishing different eagles.
Today in the garden we also saw 2 eagles (white-tailed eagle or osprey - I have to look there yet) and heard. I'm sure they have a nest somewhere. (Nature reserve) Thanks to the forum and the opportunity to watch eagles. I was sure that they have a nest here. There are shouts that only give them close to the nest.
Meanwhile, I still think that both have no serious intentions in this nest. Unfortunately.

Hello Polly, WTE and Osprey are very different and hardly to mistake.
WTE: very big and „massive“, rather dark in coloring, with broad rectangular wings and slow, heavy wing beat
Osprey: much smaller and slimmer, with white (!) underbody and narrow, angled wings
WT Eagles normally are breeding now and both partners can only be seen together if they don’t breed. Ospreys recently have returned from wintering area.
Best regards – Martin

Isn't it getting (too) late for seeing eggs in this nest?

It seems that yes, it's getting too late for eggs, Gunnar wrote (page 6 of this topic):
...According the datas from the trailcam study I can say that in our latitude here in Estonia first egg laying date median is 21. of March (8. March-5.April)...

Is it possible this couple won't breed this year?
I think otherwise they would do breeding care somewhere else and not come back to this nest.
Or am I wrong?
