Re: Lesser Spotted Eagles - Betiņa and Betiņš 2018 (Latvia)
Good afternoon, Liz
A drama in the LSE nest! I hope it doesn`t spoil the nesting season.
15:00 - Bird in the nest, with frog. To me it looks like the female? It`s because I think the eyebrows looks «weaker». It`s how I manage to separate from each other. I wonder if it`s another male, or female. Could it be that Betina has arrived?
The bird left the nest with the frog after some minutes. S/he is calling from the forest.
15:40 - Still calling outside of the view.
Edit: I posted the picture a bit later, because I was hungry too:-)

.....
I also considered, if it was Betina. I think there were two females in the nest and one LSE was outside the nest on the branch.
Did you eat that frog

Two birds are calling.
15:47 - On of the birds came in for a very fast visit. He was calling, and left immediately. This time I think it was the male...

17:31 One landed on the camera. she swayed- It was the orange ringed eagle
17:33 again a fight ......one was chased out of the nest
Lussi is it the male? It's the one who chased the other one

Thank you Liz, I have changed it back to what I first wrote. I`m in trouble this season, I have difficulty separating them from each other
I hope this fight doesn`t destroy the season, I`m a bit worried about it.
