The variety of young visitors is growing - a nuthatch.
Seems a bit hectic, jumpy but not really shy.

Not seen here sticking to the tree.

I think it's fitis/Phylloscopus trochilus...

The song 'outside' - at the nest another (pair?).
from 4:14 p.m :innocent:
It's the song, not the call.
Do they (male) sing for each other before starting their migration? Or use the song as a territorial marker (while other bird species lay green twigs on the nest)
(female?)

...so adorable and devoted :innocent:

My notes today are a disaster.
12:45 a stately dragonfly alights on the nest.
She changes position several times but stays here for well over half an hour.

Hello Liz, I also pondered this when I saw this branch lying there a while ago. But there have been a lot of days recently with strong winds, really strong levering gusts. I don't rule out that this branch was driven into the nest from the edge of the nest.
It wouldn't be the first time that the wind has redecorated the nest.
Edit:
On the one hand, I think that most ospreys have already started their migration and on the other hand, especially Teo - I find the idea dreamy. Teo has at least given up this nest. Otherwise he would have been observed or at least heard here. However, I have darker premonitions. In general, ospreys were almost never heard here.
Teo would move more than just a branch. Teo is Teo... the special nest builder. He is unforgettable. Teo is more than just an osprey.

:hi:

There are always concerts here...

Male deer (or does a moose roar?), voice of the owl (female) ... I cannot interpret the calls at dawn. They sound great.

October 16th

Hello together! :hi:

Seems a WTE couple is visiting Teo's former breeding ground.
07:46 A WTE flies into the nest and pushes nest material.
'47 the second WTE flies towards the camera
'47 the eagle in the nest flies into a nearby tall tree
Image

Image

52, '53 movements on the camera. Jerking and fluffing of the feathers.

'56 the bird leaves the position, the WTE on the tree follows him.

Both are very calm and relaxed.

𝐙𝐢𝐯𝐣𝐮 ē𝐫𝐠ļ𝐢𝐬 (𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐬) 𝐊𝐮𝐫𝐳𝐞𝐦ē - 𝐋𝐃𝐅 𝐭𝐢𝐞š𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐝𝐞

that is Teo's nest? the description says it. It looks totally foreign to me! / EDIT: Trīne wrote: Nē.Apraksts zem tiešraides vecais. / the description is old

Description!
The observed nest is located in Kurzeme - Saldus district. This osprey nesting area has been known since 1989, when a beaver nest was found. At the beginning of the 90s, an artificial nest was installed in a fir tree, unfortunately the tree broke in 1996. After that, ospreys nested in beavers in various dead trees.
In November 2007, Aigars Kalvāns installed an artificial nest in a pine tree, which was inhabited by a pair of ospreys for the first time in 2010. Unfortunately, the nesting was not successful that year.
From 2012 to 2015, the nest was occupied and nesting was successful - three osprey babies were hatched in 2012, one in 2013, two in 2014 and three in 2015. In 2016, the nest was inhabited, but nesting was unsuccessful.
In 2017, when an online camera system was installed at this nest, the osprey nested successfully.
In 2018, the same male that nested here the previous year -Teo - and another female, who was named Tija, started nesting. Tija laid 3 eggs and started to incubate them, but on May 1, the live broadcast system was damaged by a storm and we could not watch the further developments in the nest.
In 2019, Teo returned to the nest, but the couple with the new female Vita/28 did not form and the nesting was not successful.
In 2020, Teo and Vita/28 hatched 3 eggs, one baby hatched, which was carried away by a hen hawk.

The camera system was created by Jānis Ķuze, Jānis Rudzītis and Aigars Kalvāns, Jānis Jansons has also helped in its maintenance.

I have to ask what "ligzda bebrainē" means. I can't find a translation! I knew it, but I forgot it
