Mary Jane, thank you for sharing the events! :2thumbsup:
I didn't really expect the stream to start again today.
I'm home now and running the camera. Although things are going rather badly, I hope we will see them again today.

These eagles kind of have two faces.
They look so apart and often they look so cute with their hedgehog face.
Fascinating!

Hi, Polly! :hi:

I was so happy to see the male in the nest this morning. And you're right,
he really does look like a little hedgehog there. :rotf:

5:12 Male lands on the nest. He takes a look around and is calling, then lies down for a moment, but decides it is better to stand on one leg.

5:16 Female comes to the nest and has a lot to say.

5:17 Male goes behind the camera. Female is calling.

5:18 Female walks to the branch on the right, then comes back to the nest at 5:20. She arranges branches, lies down for a short while and watches someone fly over the nest.

5:23 She too goes behind the camera and keeps calling from time to time.

Good morning, we can still hope, only yesterday on the third of four Latvian nests, an egg appeared. We are still within the time frame for egg laying. Keeping my fingers crossed, this nest is so beautiful, it should be used!

About the stuttering stream I have written already, there is hope that one of the good people looking after the technical equipment of the nest cameras is trying to improve the stream and maybe looks for a different provider.

This nest is breathtakingly beautiful. Like an eagle mansion.
Thank you for keeping my hope alive. Fingers crossed both for eggs and better stream.

Here are 2 videos from this morning. Due to issues with the stream the sound and picture are not always in sync.

Thank you Mary Jane!
They come quite reliably every morning. That's a good sign.

It is very difficult to observe this nest over a longer period of time. Thank you Felis for the hope that it might get better.

May 10

Our eagles seem to have taken the morning off.
The only visitor today has been a female blackbird at 7:33 and at 10:33 a blackbird sat on the camera to sing a beautiful song for the ladies. He also sang on the nest branch and I think he found success by 11 right under the nest. Great job.
Still no eagles though.

Good morning! :hi:
The camera is running great today!

Unfortunately I only saw (and heard) this lovely visitor. Very nice singing.

Polly :hi:
Blackbirds are wonderful singers.
But I really miss the eagles today.

So it is 19:15 now and no eagles this rainy day. Will they just abandon the nest site if it turns out they will have no offspring this year? Or is it possible they have another nest in the area? :puzzled:

Mary Jane =)

I have just come home from work and I was very much hoping to read a pleasant report from the last few hours.
Too bad but let's hope for a few more days.
I almost never caught Magnus & Maia at the nest. Very rarely only and I thought that this camera would unfortunately remain unsuccessful. And now they will have offspring. :bounce:

Let's hope, Polly!

EDIT: May 11, 18:25. I have been recording the whole day (both yesterday and today) to make sure I don't miss anything. No sign of the eagles for two days now.

Greetings to all :hi:

I have noticed that Urmas Lett is broadcasting on YT Konnakotkas and Konnakotkas3 cameras, this one remains streaming only via Eenet.
I guess that is due to lack of activity in the nest :puzzled:

Every time I open the camera, i see an empty nest :faint:
Mary Jane thank you for the photoproof that it isnt always so :2thumbsup:
Its a pity if this nest will not be occupied for breeding, lets hope and see...

Yes, sadly not much happening on this nest these last few days. This beautiful place has stolen my heart, so I still hope a little bit. Less and less though as the days go by.

Yeah, it's amazing.
Mary Jane was accurate in the morning almost every day...the couple was there. Similar to Magnus and Maia. They were also not often at the nest and suddenly the first egg was there.
But now 2 days without any sighting and not to hear their sounds ... maybe this nest is not their choice or they will have no brood.
These eagles are completely new to me and I don't want to speculate. I don't know their habits but a few days I will hope.

It is aggravating that the camera transmits so badly. :bash:
I like to run hopeful but rather inactive nests on my second mobile phone at high volume. So I can hear calls and watch immediately. Unfortunately this doesn't work here. The transmission often freezes after two minutes at the latest. I don't have this time and patience to restart the camera all the time.

At the moment I don't believe in a nest in the surroundings.
It is despite the transmission gaps too quiet...no calls. At least not when I look.

But who knows...

Love greetings to you!

Polly! So good to hear from you. :hi:
I will be away from home most of the day tomorrow, but I will try to keep an eye on the camera in the morning. I would be happy just to hear their calls, so I would know they are still in the area.
Keep us posted if you see or hear anything.

Have a good night everyone! :offtobed:
