Happy you like them, Jo. At Ain, I also thought a bit of a tribute to Ain Nurmla, who collected our jumped off storks together with Urmas

Balistar Jo UK I do agree concerning Ain . One storklet must have this name.
Who it Ott and why is he important for our black storks?
We could change Urmas into Ormas, but probably this would be disrespectful

When I looked at http://www.talgud.ee/lugu/must-toonekure
I saw the name Ott and photographs of him and by him.

Those two names are masculine so we must not be surprised if Juta doesn't want to include them.
Or maybe she will.

Hi,
Very nice if this year's names would start with A and O :) !
My vote goes to Aiki and Oivi.

With A we could also use Armas (also gender neutral, means lovely).

I like Ain for A
Consider these for O:
Olee - pronounce Ohlee
Ode - German pronounciation - Oduh Swedish pronounciation - Ooduh Finnish pronounciation - Oday
this is not Estonian but it has multiple country usage for names; I spelled the pronounciation the way I would spell it in
English sounds

I suggest monotonous Estonian names that suit both a boy and a girl:
Ali
Olli
Olli (lucky, temperamental)
Ali (friendly, attentive, serious and from Arab roots meaning: brave, senior)
716A - really senior and attentive
716O - really temperamental and lucky.
The source of information wrote my above. These names are harmonious, melodious and easy to remember.

Question:
if you'll be informed about the gender one day, are you going to change the names again, if the male has a female name and the female has a male name (in case one of them is a male or a female ) ?
or are you looking now only for gender neutral names or
a male AND female name with A and
a male AND female name with O ?

If we translate the names into the languages of other countries, many of the names that were mentioned earlier, almost all unisex. If it is important that it should only be a Baltic name, then I am certainly not an adviser. But for other countries, all names ending in "i" or "e" are unisex.
My proposal: Aine
Alli
Aive
Olli
Orni
Ozzi
Olve

That's the reason why i ask ;)Jo UK wrote:So this is why Juta said it is not easy!
as far as i read and see it, it's not clear and mixed up.
juta suggested unisex, but there are still others. i think it's more complicated when the criteria are not clear.
on the other hand we could collect names and make 3 polls to find 6 names:
2 unisex with a + o
2 male with a + o
2 female with a + o
and then again polls - ko-system.
or as juta suggested, just unisex, 1 poll, 2 names.
unisex would be the easiest - but as it was already mentioned, when the names have to be estonian and unisex, we should probably expecially ask estonian mother language speaking persons

To restate the requirements, as in Juta's first post in this topic - we are asking for names which are
Estonian,
Gender neutral
Beginning with A and with O.
I believe only an Estonian native can conrol this topic! Thanks, Juta.
