Sweet Gabby laid her second egg, congrats to her and Sam. Hopefully this season they will have two bobbles.

It was a rainy night and a rainy morning too.

She looks so satisfied.

GABBY left the nest yesterday afternoon about 12:30pm when Samson arrived to incubate. She hasn't returned yet. I checked the LY and trees in the area at dawn this morning, and she wasn't seen. This is odd behavior that she didn't return last night to incubate. Samson has been a trooper and hasn't yet left their eggs. He will soon need to stretch his wings. We remain positive and hopeful Gabby returns soon.

Oh that's not good.

It reminds me of the attacks on his parents Romeo and Juliet. It was a bad time ...

Samson wasn't one of his parents' attackers. Although his presence has been suspected or even confirmed.
Mostly they were females. Gabby was also there but not destructive.
Was it Gabby trying to incubate Romeo and Juliet's brood?
I only vaguely remember ...

Hopefully Gabby will return.

Edit: I just reread ... yes, Gabby was named A2.

From the cam page chat window:
... He was up once more at 11:52 am...he flew off at 11:53 am...in flew Gabby with vocal at 11:54 am...Hooray! she was finally back! After some brief discussion with Samson she hopped to the nest to take over incubating NE26 and NE27. Samson immediately flew off for his long awaited break. Pshew!

GABBY IS HOME!
She looks fine, happy and relaxed - there are no marks or injuries - appears she just took some time off before the eggs hatch. One of our local rehabbers mentioned that towards the end of gestation, a female can sometimes be a little unpredictable! 🙂 All is Fine in the Pine once again!
