Dwarf birch flowers
There are few ramblers in bogs and marshes; reaping any harvests is still some time off, but the dwarf birch flowers. It is found mostly in North and West Estonia on the mainland, very rarely on the islands and in the southern parts of the mainland it is not often seen.
Compared to our other, larger birches the dwarf birch has much smaller and erect catkins – the male as well as the female ones. The dwarf birch shrub stays at a height of barely one metre and the leaves are no larger than a Euro cent coin.
