This is what the early spring flowerer looks like now, because the flower buds for next year had to be grown already this summer. (well shown in the photo). Its quick emergence and flowering next spring succeeds thanks to the nutrients stored this year. An extraordinarily rational arrangement because the leaves of the colt’s-foot start growing only after flowering, during the seed ripening time. Then heat, light and nutrients are plentiful and to be had almost for free...
