On November 11th a bird species new in Estonia was observed in Saaremaa, in Sääre village – the Eurasian crag martin.

The crag martin is large and sturdy. Powerful head, thick neck and broad wings but with pointed tips; a powerful flight image.
In flight we can see the sand-coloured underparts, the delicate pattern on the throat and the brownish underside of the tail.
How did this South European breeder happen to arrive here?
