Perfect seal weather prevailed a week ago once again – and so most of the Väinameri (Strait`s Sea) was traveled through. Ringed seals were lying on rocks – there has not been any ice on the sea since April. The seals were feeling great and were scratching off their old fur.
Lying on the rocks with such big numbers is rare in our corner of the Baltic Sea and fortunately such secluded spots can still be found. There were at least 1000 ringed seals on the Väinameri.
