A happy surprise of course. We have no idea of what caused the female's two weeks of absence from the nest. Fortunately the male has only had one eaglet to feed and that he has done well.

 

Naturally the bond between the parents and the young eaglet has weakened. It will be interesting to see how things will develop in the nest.
