Small pasqueflower.
During these holidays you may find the small pasqueflower (Pulsatilla pratensis) with its bell-like flowers on the fringes of dry wooded areas and meadows. It is a plant that catches the eye because it is so endearing – downy-haired, the flower shyly nodding. Only when the seeds begin to develop the stem straightens up and becomes taller. The small pasqueflower’s relative, the common pasqueflower, holds its flowerheads turned upwards when it flowers.
